It was far enough away from the center of Haarlem for privacy but close enough to walk to. I liked the breakfast bonus of being included in the hotel rate. We have just returned from the best stay we have ever had in Haarlem. When you make a hotel booking you read the reviews, the pros and cons, and then make your choice. We choose “Bed and Breakfast L'Anders”. This is a small 4 bedroom place with the rooms above the restaurant facing onto the beautiful square.

I loved its postion and our room overlooked the Church of St Bavo's. My 86 year old mother was enthralled and had never in her life stayed some-wehre like this. It was worth all the trouble at the airport getting her there. She is in a wheelchair and we found all the facilities and staff exteremley helpful - the antiques and the bar of the hotel. i

After asking about where to have dinner with our children, we were given a map and thoughtful answers on where to visit and eat beyond our guide book. The Hotel Malts' breakfast is a real treat too so I recommend you enjoy it for at least one morning. And the beds are very comfortable!
