Check in/out with storage service at Kyoto train station is a really convenient one. The rooms are surprisingly big and cozy with superb city view. Location is excellent to access the Nanjio temple and other famous spot. Dining and caual walking in this area are superb. -

The location was great. In front of Kyoto station. There is a shopping mall at the next block (AEON), where there are many stores, and also Daiso (100-yen shop). The Toji temple was near from this hotel, as well as Kyoto Aquarium. To get to most temples, travelers have to take bus lines, that are just across Kyoto station. Staff friendly. 1) Breakfast - European buffet was to die for!! they cook ham in front of your eyes, excellent choice of fruit, muesli, sausages, fish.
2) Spacious room.
3) Staff speaks good English and very helpful, allowed us to leave our luggage for free for 3 days even when we left for Tokyo and then didn't come back to Hyatt again.
4) Locality is really convenient for both sightseeing (next to Kyoto Museum and various temples) and logistics point (5 min from train/shinkansen station)

Very nice and very clean hotel. Rooms are a bit small (like everywhere in japan) but comfortable and clean. Staff is very kind and speak english very well. Very good value for money. Breakfast is also good.
I can recommend this hotel.
The location is not so exciting, I though it was quite near to Gion but it's not. You have to take the subway to reach restaurants or night life areas.

A perfect hotel if you'd like to get away from the japanese business hotels with the small rooms. If you are traveling as a family or if you are older, this is the best choice in Kyoto as far as I'm concerned. The staff was lovely, kind, and unfailingly helpful. They were able to direct me to every place I needed to go. The subway station is three blocks away with a five minute ride to Kyoto Station. The bus stop in front of the hotel will get you to most of the major attactions.
