  We would like to thank Afroditi, Mary and all the other staff of Elina for our wonderful time there! The hotel was close to everything, both the beach and the old town, our room was comfortable and bigger then we thought, there was a balcony and a bathtub.   We received a very warm Cretan welcome from Kiria Chryssa and her daughter Galia who spoke excellent English. The room was very spacious and spotlessly clean, fresh towels and cleaning were provided every other day and we had fresh sheets in the middle of our stay. We also enjoyed the mini menagerie consisting of numerous hens, (quiet ones too) a small herd of goats - very friendly hoster, good location, quiet place (appartments and beach - both), very easy to reach Retimno' center.   If you're looking for something other than a beachfront colossus, you won't do better than the Afroditi. We were charmed by the cosiness of the room, the owner Yannis couldn't have been more helpful, and everything is very close - beach, the old town, restaurants - and yet the hotel is on a secluded side-street with almost no noise. We particularly appreciated the bottles of drinking water freely available in the room which we thought was a very nice touch.   We got the apartment on the opposite side of the street so there was no sea view but we expected that, all in all, we made reservation for this kind of room.
