  The owners were very friendly and hospitable, the location was excellent ( near the beach, shops and restaurants etc but we were able to visit other beautiful beaches and historic Minoan sites with our rental car ( we were sorry when it was time to leave) - The manager (Georgia) did her best to make us comfortable and happy.   Matala has a wonderfull beach with clear water in a bay far from large tourist groups. It is a small village. Nikos Hotel is a small family hotel with private sitting groups with nice shadow outside at least second floor rooms.
