Eating breakfast on the balcony (usually fruit or souvlaki we bought the night before and stored in the hotel refrigerator down the hall) was a great way to begin our day. All the balconies offer excellent views to Meteora, some good restaurants and markets are nearby (but without troubling the silence) and the staff is young and friendly.

We only stayed for 1 night for a short visit to Meteora but the place is worth staying for longer. After we check-out, we planned to take the train to Athens. But when we get to the railway station, there is nobody at the railway station and only a note of one English word "Strike" on the window!!!
