  Easy walking distance to central station or indeed right to city centre (half an hour or so) if you like a stroll. Friendly, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable room - no street noise that we heard. Nice little bar for a cheeky beer after a busy day. Public transport ans a few restaurants all in walking distance. Furthermore, the Hotel General Manager Mr. Kayhan Kilit handling with my requests and complaint was extremely impressive and more than satifactory. I highly recommend this Hotel not just for its close proxim - The hotel is very new, and has very nice installations. The staff is very friendly. There is a great garden with a "sandbox" and toys for the kids. Very near to OstbahnHof from where you can reach every place in the city with public transport. Convenience and restaurants nearby. Very family friendly. Washing/dry machines in the basement for 4 Euro each program.

  This is our second time staying at the Hotel an der Oper and we chose it again for its excellent location. It is located very near the Hofbrauhaus (and other eating & drinking places such as Augustiner and Hard Rock), which are all very easy to walk to. Also, it is only a 3-5 minute walk to Marienplatz (which is another good location). Most of the top sights of Munich are right nearby. The same is true of many of the best restaurants and shops. The staff was very helpful with reservations, including getting us excellent seats at a very popular performance of Rigoletto, which was right around the corner. They also selected and reserved a perfect restaurant for our first night in the city. Very nice!
