We've been to Berlin a number of times and with the standard of public transport, most central locations will be ideal for discovering the city - the same applies to the Generator. The beds were warm and cozy, though we benefited from having spare beds in our room meaning extra pillows for us. The shower is excellent, - I stayed at the dorm room this time, and it was one of the cleanest dorm with most comfy bunk bed I've ever experienced. The 6 bed female dorm was cute and funtional; each bed has its own power socket, head lamp, huge drawer. The power shower was great too. The wifi was free with great signal up to my room. I'm not a dorm-room fan, but I definately recommend this dorm for anyone who does. The location is very close to most of attraction and metro. Supermarket, McD, KFC were a little bit far

The vibe was young and trendy and the atmosphere downstairs made you feel instantly welcome. It was very easy to meet nice people and hang out because of several natural hang-out-places.   It was located in a nice area near a canal, with a lot of affordable restaurants nearby. As well, the staff were really friendly, approachable, and full of information. There seemed to be an adequate amount of powerpoints for everyone, and there were bonus bathrooms on my floor for when the one in my dorm was taken. Hostel have their own bikes, which is very convenient (you don't need to search for bike rent) and a must if you want to see a lot in a city.
