just about everything, especially Gerard, the concierge. A real asset to the hotel.
the room was a little dark.
The ambience of the hotel and dining facilities. Conceriege was particularly helpful
Plumbing was hard to work out and a little erratic
The staff and the service. Except for the functioning of the bath/shower, which was never correct
The Cour des Loges is a unique hotel, built out of a couple of very well preserved renaissance houses. I used to live in another restored building from the same period further down the same street, and it's a very pleasant nostalgic experience for me to stay there when I'm back in Lyon.
It's been roughly 20 years since the hotel was created, and a lot of the infrastructure - lighting, heating, plumbing - while state-of-the-art in 1990, is getting a little worn. For example, the thermostat in my room did not function.
The staff was wonderful and very helpful, and the building was beautiful.
Our room was a bit small, especially the bathroom.
