The Hotel was superb, both in location and decor. We were very pleased with the room and the friendly staff. It was also very helpful that they looked after our bags, whilst we did sight seeing, eventhough we had already checked out. Staff very friendly - The room and ensuite were newly refurbished in an interesting arty style and bright colours, which I liked. The room seemed so new, as if I was the first person to stay in it! Hopefully it will age well. The hotel is in a sidestreet, so not too much traffic noise, but very convenient for Gare du Nord.

We enjoyed our stay at Ibis Lafayette very much. Location is excellent - just a mere moment from Gare du Nord in a quiet side street. I imagine it may be a bit far from the centre to some people but the metro is just 2 min away and it will take you to Louvre in 10 mins. The location is fantastic. I flew into CDG, caught the train to gar de nord and then the hostel is a very short walk up rue de dunkerque. Then further up the street is the pigalle and sacre couer just above that.
Breakfast was good, plus there are supermarkets on the same street and you can cook your own food at the hostel. Wifi is free, staff are friendly.
If you're prepared to accept that it's a budget option and don't expect the ritz it's a great choice. I fully intend to return.
