Maybe the view from other rooms (with little balconies) is even better (Schlossberg vineyards and the Castle).   Very helpful reception staff who spoke English and appreciated my attempts to speak in French. Comfortable room. Good simple breakfast. You can park by the hotel to unload and then drive a short distance to the public car park near the Gendarmerie. For ten Euros returnable deposit you can borrow a free parking card. Also, the late check-in process was simple - the hotel provided us with a code to get in and the keys were waiting for us just inside.

Situated towards the southern end of the Routes des Vins, it was well-located for touring the very worthwhile and enjoyable Ecomusee d'Alsace, the Routes des Vins, Colmar and Strasbourg. Clean, well decorated, modern and tasteful in the room, but the hotel is an old abby. Best to stay here and eat at Swendi as the abby doesnt offer evening meals unfortunately.
