The staff is exceptional -- all spoke English, even the maid. All wentout of their way to be friendly and helpful and gracious. We added on ahalf day, since our flight didn't leave til evening, and the maid camein and made up the room with fresh towels and everything while we wereat lunch. location - the hotel is right in the thick of it - you come out of the hotel and you are right in the centre of a very lively area - to one side you are next to a market and a five minutes to the river - to the other side in a wonderful area of the city - clothes food jewellery and life. I paid about $70 a night.

The hotel was beautifully presented, very clean and the staff were extremely friendly and accomodating. Of the 3 hotels we have stayed in during our trip, this was by far our standout favorite. I loved everything about Shangri-La; although abit on the expensive side but worth it. The hotel is the grandest I have ever visited, the service is excellent and has lived up to its 5-star status. Loved every minute of it and cant wait to re-visit. -

Booked in for a for a standard room and because my birthday was the following week, I was upgraded with a suite, and given wine and chocolate. Wonderful gesture, but as I had a 1am flight, wasn't able to take full advantage of staying the night. It will definitely be the hotel I stay in while in GZ. -
