  MacKechnie House was like going back in time. I loved staying in an 1840 home with all it's elegance. The 12 foot ceilings, french doors which open up from the dining room to the porch was so quaint. Lovely English garden allowing each guest their own privacy. We enjoyed having a great healthy breakfast to start - My sister and I spent the night for her birthday, we stayed in the Mrs Fortune room which was very luxurious for a little girl's first experience with a bed and breakfast. The owner happily showed us around the property and answered our questions about the historic charm of the Estate. The food was gourmet, again a first for my sister, who ate everything. It was a wonderful getaway, and so close to downtown Cobourg
