I can't say enough good things about the Alto and staff . The room was clean ,comfortable and had little extras that made you feel at home.I had a mini box of chocolates and a welcome note waiting in my room as well as my luggage that they had kept secure for me for a week I was traveling to Caines . The staff were superb. Everyone, from the people on the desk to the cleaning staff to the people in the restaurant at breakfast time were polite, helpful, friendly and went out of their way to make you feel welcome without being 'in your face'. The staff were fantastic, they couldn't do enough for you. The
room was spacious and very well appointed. They location would be
great if you had plans at one of the sporting venues and although you
were 2 blocks from the North/South tram routes, there were
East/West trams running one street either side of the hotel.

One of the best experiences I've had at a hotel - particularly for the price we paid!

This was our second stay at the Grand Hotel Melbourne and we were warmly greeted upon arrival. The staff are always very friendly and eager to help were possible. All the rooms are very spacious and clean with the most amazingly comfortable beds. We were also touched that the staff had given us a complimentary bottle of champagne upon arrival! -

I just wanted to say thank you to the staff at Punthill in Chinatown. They were just fantastic...nothing was too much for them and they were incredibly helpful at all times. They really showed what good service is about. I have stayed in hotels and apartments all around the world and they rate at the top end of my experience. We really like the location of the hotel and the ease at which you can connect to many of the city's attractions via walking or using the other transportation services available. I liked the fact that it was situated near the city attractions but not
too close, hence not too noisy. The tram stop was just by the hotel or
we could walk downtown in less than 15 minutes. There was a small
supermarket right next door. We were on 10th floor and had the views
without the traffic noise. The staff were nice and helpful and the
apartment was roomy, comfortable and tastefully decorated.

There was a pleasant atmosphere and the big space of the reception area

The front desk staff were excellent. So helpful. We were in Melbourne looking for a flat for our daughter so had some paperwork to do. Staff did some photocopying and faxing for us and it was no trouble for them.(We had our own laptop and internet) We needed a carpark and were able to have one. I n a visit a few weeks before the weather was very hot and they gave us an iceblock and cold drink on our return from house hunting. Very thoughtful-full marks. We will certainly visit again.
