Were booked for Monday night but arrived, unexpectedly, a day early..in the middle of the night. They accommodated very nicely--giving a good rate and complimentary parking. Parking is very safe--a concern of ours in a downtown setting. A really great location: excellent for getting around especially downtown and for using the transit system. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

The Red Roof Inn is located in a beautiful place in downtown San Diego. The staff was very nice and helpful, and a place for all ages to stay in comfort. It exceeded my expectations overall good experience. Friendly staff, good price point, nice rooms. David at the front desk is great!. The hotel is very good. The Staff was very friendly. The room was clean. Right location the hotel Red Roof inn San Diego. Clean, commodious rooms has all of the facilities. Location is perfect. 5 minutes walk to the heart of the city. Staff at the Hotel was very nice. Front desk gentleman when we checked out was extremely polite and helpful. An older hotel but very clean. A great staff as well ! Really liked the wood floors , no carpet is great !. Although a low budget hotel , it was clean, comfortable and a really friendly staff. We stayed here for Comic-Con and were very happy with our choice. As well as a competitive price, they offered a quiet respite from the parties in the Gaslamp with lots of food/coffee stops between it and the convention centre. They facilitated an early check-in and were very friendly in checking out. Spacious rooms, clean, fresh towels and linen....location was good, short walk to port area, and Gaslamp area. Complimentary airport pick-up/Drop- Off which not advertised... Very close to Gaslamp quarter on the Fifth Ave. Good beds but small bathroom. Parking ok but not enough lots for all rooms. We were at hotel from 18 to 19 of the September 2013. Chek - out 19/09/13 and cashed 16 $ money for park car but hotel recived the same summary 16 $ by credit card. How can I get return my money 16 $ for my credit card, please?. Parking fee $16 per night in the hotels own parking place is ridiculous. We stay at your Hotel every year on the same weekend. We would really like if you had an outdoor area, we realize there's no pool but just a patio to sit out and enjoy the cool evenings and maybe have a cup of coffee. Windows were sealed closed - presumably for security, but it meant that no fresh air circulation was possible. The hotel is in bad conditions: old, noisy plumbing, air conditioner doesn't work well... In the first floor there is too much noise coming from the parking lot. The matress is horrible. No breakfast. The parking is too expensive. Expensive price for what it is!!. Nothing. Staff not very helpful. The wifi was inadequate. I called the tech support twice trying to get a connection and never got one from my room. I had to sit outside the office to get online. Internet wasn't working well. The walls were too thin and paying for parking was over priced. charged for safe in room. Small bathroom due to the rain it was very slippery in the rooms with flooring and no where to wipe feet. Bathroom. Room booked was missing fridge and microwave. Rectified on arrival. The only drawback was that the vending machines downstairs didn't seem to be operating - insignificant detail. Didn't get room I booked, no microwave or flat screen as advertised. Too many homeless around the streets nearby. Water system is noisy pipes clatter n bang when someone turns on shower or flushes toilet. When I asked for the service cleaning room they changed only the towels but vacuum cleaner was not used. Extremely noisy air con and bad wifi connection. Cockroach running around... TV didn't work; was offered a maintenance person but didn't want to go through that late at night. We found dead bedbugs in our room and ask to be move to another room. There was no bug in the other room but there were no dresser and no fridge either. The bathroom pipes made an awful sound whenever you ran the water. shower made a loud and very annoying noise. the water pressure wasnt good either. towels felt rough. The place charged for parking on there lot. Also there was no fridge in the room like the booking said. Linen smelt as though they were from a smokers room. All was very basic for $129 dollars/ night. Room was a little dark. Also, they removed the bathroom carpet and did not bring another one when I asked. And they charge 16,00 to park when the parkings around the hotel charge 10,00. They did not take cash as a form of payment. A pain since they also couldnt give us correct directions to the bank to deposit the cash. And the night crew working the front desk was very bright. It wasn't very clean and we paid too much for the hotel standards. Rooms seemed old, and some devices like the ac were missing knobs, making it difficult to control temp. They were trying to charge as much as possible. And they charged a " Special Service Fee" If we hadn't checked the bill correctly they would have charged and we wouldn't have noticed. Too much expansive for the kind of hotel. parking,wifi,poorly remodeled. It was noisy as - the worst place I have ever ever stayed.
