  I like the style, frankly the ' class ' that The Carlyle and that the staff exude. I stayed many times at The Carlyle in the 1980's early 90s, indeed had my wedding there in 1998. I haven't been at all since for no negative reason but simply professionally I no longer visit NY, but expect to privately will do periodically going fwd.   Our favorite aspect of the room was the bathroom with both a deep soaking tub and a lovely shower with hand held spray. This latter feature is often omitted in even many nicer hotels. Of course the marble and the overall design created a cheerful and homey environment. The bed was excellent and the mattress was friendly to our hypersensitive backs... o que as pessoas dizem » . The sound system was nice. Our room faced the back and so was extemely quiet for nyc. Of course, the staff was as pleasant as could be. - The staff were ALL extremely helpful and friendly. The room was large and beautifully decorated. The bathroom was very large and extremely nice. The shower was amazing and had great water pressure. The bed was deliciously comfortable. Even though our room overlooked Madison Avenue, it was very quiet. In short, it was wonderful!!

  I was travelling with my 15 year old daughter. The hotel was a pleasant surprise amidst the unattractive neighborhood. The room was small, but that's New York. We were on 9th floor and the sweeping views of the Williamsburg bridge and Manhattan skyline were amazing! Beds were very comfortable, room was clean. Staff was young, polite, and - Regarding location, some might find the surrounding industry/depot businesses disturbing, but you cannot beat the stunning view of the Manhattan skyline, you have from all rooms and the rooftop-terrace. The area is quiet at night - also if you walk home to your hotel in the evening. Convenient with the complimentary hotel shuttlebus, but you could also easily walk to the subway station Queensboro Plaza 7 blocks from the hotel (8 min walk). In the morning there might be a bit of noice from truck

  The rooms were beautifully appointed in contemporary tasteful decor. Comfortable seating. Great flat screen TV. Bed was super comfortable and linens were really elegant. Bathroom setup was fantastic. The shower was the best I've ever had. Wish I could take it home with me. It was a rainshower type with great pressure and easy to turn on and off. Room service was amazing - My father and I shared a standard queen room overnight while visiting nyc to see a concert. I was amazed that the concierge desk is open and available 24-7 - we ended up checking into our room at around 10:45 pm and the staff was still very happy to greet us. Each staff member expressed their wonderful personality and kindness in every interaction, and were 100% accommodating. The decor of common spaces as well as that of our room was chic yet comfortable; we enjoyed the entire experience.
