I don't know if it was southern hospitality or Hilton training, but everyone we came in contact with, including coffee shop and bar personnel, were friendly and efficient.   The Dupont Circle provided a special experience from the moment we arrived. The design was contemporary with a touch of luxury but the atmosphere was relaxing and not pompous. The location was perfect for my husband and I and we thoroughly enjoyed the walk to the national monuments (about 30 mins).
