The owners were welcoming and friendly and the accommodation was warm, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful - gluten-free bread was supplied specially for me, which was much appreciated. The guest house was ideally situated for exploring York - and was only a minutes' walk from the football ground too! -

Blown away by the plush, stylish apartment. We visited York with my parents & this 2-bedroom apartment suited us much better than two separate hotel rooms, as it provided a social space (kitchen, dining table, sofas and TV)
Incredibly convenient for walking to key places in York; train station, the Shambles, the Minster and, highlight of the trip for my husband, the National Rail Museum.
The lovely Heather at reception is also wonderfully helpful :)

A warm sincere greeting by the owners on arrival set the tone for our stay. Lovely room , well dressed and furnished.En-suite more than roomy enough and fit for purpose, which isn't always the case with guest houses we've used in the past. Location is peaceful, and in a nice area. Pleasant and friendly staff could not be more helpful, and the breakfast sets you up for the day, truly a treat!! Private parking at the back of the house (free), is a bonus. We both rate Ascot House as being as good

A great location on Bootham Terrace. Only minutes from centre of York. The apartment contains all one would require for a stay. It was large enough for four persons without getting in each others way. Elevator to the apartment was a bonus and good security. The rooms are generously proportioned and the staff couldn't have done enough for us. The breakfasts are excellent. Location of the hotel to York was good and only a 20minute walk or three minute taxi ride away. All in all we had a great weekend and would readily recommend The Limes to anyone.
