The staff were smart, friendly and did there best to make the Rex feel a classy hotel. The main staircase seemed a lovely reminder of the glory of the hotel in the past and the restaurant suggests hope for the future but the bedrooms tell a tale of dividing down decent rooms to fit in as many customers as possible. The views over Weymouth seafront are full of life and entertainment. We enjoyed a full english breakfast that was fuller than most. I give high marks for the fried bread and black p.
todos opiniões » celebrating our wedding anniversary we chose the four poster room with spa bath and balcony. I was excellent, comfortable with great harbour and sea front views. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for us. We tried the restaurant the first night and were amazed at the quality, presentation and choice of menu also very affordable. It was so good we went there the second night as well!. Excellent experience we would not hesitate to recommend. The staff were excellent, very polite, friendly and helpful. Hotel is right by the sea/harbour/beach which is why I chose it. Having the bar in the hotel was handy too. Probably the best feature was being provided with a parking permit as we were staying in weymouth in a particularly busy time and parking could have been an issue. Great hotel, made our short break very enjoyable. Definitely be back - we're a mature couple, but very young at heart!. Staff were very helpful and Manager (John) was superb. We booked late and had to accept a basic rear facing room however I was really wanting a sea view but none were available. John contacted other venues local to The Rex with sea view rooms available and found 1 on our behalf which we relocated to after the 1st night. It was a nice, practical hotel, well located on the promenade, very convenient for me as all i had to do was walk 5 minutes from the ferry terminal. It won't win any design awards for the rooms, but they were clean, and I slept well. Breakfast was also good, and the staff were welcoming. Very friendly staff with excellent customer service. Spotlessly clean and brilliant location. We used the hotel garage which was also a bonus. Fantastic service, nothing too much trouble and the food was lovely. We were happy with the hotel and would recommend it. the location of the hotel, manager and all staff most obliging and very willing to help, a happy hotel atmosphere, excellent food, housekeeping was maintained to a high standard each day. A bonus was having the pre booked garage to park our car. We went for a relaxing weekend and we got one helped by the lovely attentive staff. We didnt need the car all weekend as The Hotel Rex is in an excellent position along the Esplanade with easy reach of restuarants and the town centre. Staff were friendly and helpful and always seemed to be smiling. Bar prices were good and breakfast was very nice. Good value considering the hourly rates but was some distance from the hotel. bedroom was adequate, clean, good facilities etc, just slightly on the small side -not a major issue as we were out most of the time. Not a gripe about the hotel, but it was kind of funny at breakfast to note that it seemed I was the only person under 50. Nothing to dislike - a perfect place to stay. Subterranean dining room currently in use lacks atmosphere. The chef deserves better to display his skills. A lovely room with views is available at ground level, why not use it? Unfortunate parking situation, convert dining room into car park. I have no negative comments to add this hotel suited us perfectly. Beds were a little on the small side. Views to the back are nothing special. nothing to report. May be the hotel could do with some updating but don't let it put you off. Its not that I didn't like it, but thought the bedroom decor could do with updating. It wasn't an issue though. Narrow corridors made manoeuvring wheel chair very difficult. Also front steps unfortunate barrier to getting into hotel lobby. Room decor was absolutely awful! Needs a professional designer to come and add some STYLE to this grand old lady. The shower head was broke!. Nothing. Loved everything!. Winter parking passable, summer parking must be difficult. the only thing I didn't like was the pillows on my bed they were a bit flat. there was no entertainment at night. The bed was two singles pushed together would have preferred a proper double bed, the bed was also to soft. No Complaints really.Nothing to make a fuss about anyway.. There was nothing I didn't like. Car parking can be a bit of a lottery. The room was on the small side but the downstairs, communal area more than made up for it. nothing. Our only downside was the double bed in our room was very uncomfortable and the pillows were very flat. Rooms were a bit small, particularly the bathroom. Needs modernising. Nothing. a little tip re breakfast ordered poached egg on toast twice but both times the toast was very soggy/wet suggest you but the two eggs in the middle of the plate with the toast cut in halves around the eggs or make sure the eggs are not wet when placed on the toast. Having to leave after 3 nights stay!. No wifi in bedrooms. The room was a bit small. Too warm with duvet & too cold without! Thinner duvet perhaps?. Parking outside hotel difficult, but hotel has an indoor garage for £8 night. Little gripe - no coffee in the room!. There was quite a draft through the window in the room. Our room was at the back of the hotel which had a church nearby and the bell was very noisy and rang every hour which did not make for a peeful night. Bed a little on the small side. The beds weren't very comfy. The shower was a bit fiddly, could door with an updated version. Nothing to find fault with. Rooms a little on the small side. Parking is a bit tricky, as you have to double park the car to pop into the hotel to pick up a garage key or parking voucher when you arrive.
