The staff were excellent - really friendly and nothing was ever too much trouble. The food was superb; tasty, well prepared and presented and filling without being too much and a with a good and varied menu. The selection of drinks was huge, and the Snug was a great place to sit out of the bar after dinner. The room was amazing - really quirky and unusual and with some really imaginative touches, but still comfortable and well appointed - the shower was fabulous! The location was also great - .

Passionate staff, gloriously quirky rooms and design, great food and comfort: I thought this place looked great when I booked it on the website, but it exceeded my expectations on arrival. It's the vibrant heart of its community and the value for money is exceptional- the breakfasts,like everything else about The Bell, are excellent. If anything, I was surprised only by the 8.9 rating on the website-this place was named in The Times on the very weekend I stayed. I just absolutely loved it!!!! I felt really welcome relaxed but also felt very spoilt with all the luxury, the food was beautiful. I own my own restaurant so I understand the work that goes into running a business but I never once felt like anything was to much to ask from any of the staff. So when we left not only did I feel happy and relaxed, I also felt very envious that "The Bell" isn't mine :0). Quirky and fun but very good with it, well thought out interior design, great room, great real ale bar and food. Even the village (which is beautiful) is a bit quirky. Beautiful surrounding countryside and not your usual soulless chain hotel. My wife would have liked it and most other guests were couples. The hotel is very stylish and comfortable. We had a large room and very nice bathroom and the decor of our room,the bar and restaurant are quirky and fun. The breakfast room is not so well planned-it is awkward to get your food from buffet to table. A very nice place to stay if you want something a bit different dinner and the staff was brilliant the lady at breakfast was great and my wife loved the bath. Second time at The Bell, Just as last time, fantastic service and enthusiastic staff, we liked it so much, we bought our friends this time. The staff were friendly & attentive. Place is quirky, unusual room names but the food amazing as was the wine. Breakfast was grand. Very stylish, excellent friendly staff - handled a mix-up with the booking very honestly and professionally. Love this concept... there is no second hotel like this! Very quirky but tastefully and sensitively designed. the general overall pleasantness of the place. Quality and stylish design, passionate staff. the quirkiness. Didn't come across anything we didn't like about our stay. Absolutely nothing!;. Only slight down side is the traffic though the road isn't very busy, but I'm a light sleeper so don't be put off by that and I used ear plugs so I got a good sleep anyway. Beware the small serves of food in the restaurant-my husband's main course was ludicrously tiny. On the morning of departure we informed the hostess we were heading to the airport but the food was too slow in coming,even though we were the only people in the breakfast room. We were in "Stranger than Truth" lovely quirky room, albeit with very low doorways but it was very warm and there appeared to be a faint buzzing noise. Should have imbibed some more. Bed a little too soft. a little cool at breakfast. n/a. eating breakfast on a long table with other people and watching the brewery deliver the beer barrellsin the same room as the cellar was there. I enjoyed the bath but would have liked a shower aswell.
