In a beautiful location overlooking the bay and close to the centre of Oban we had a great visit. The owner recommended two excellent restaurants nearby where we had lovely seafood (and reserved them for us). The rooms were spacious, tastefully decorated and clean, and the breakfast was copious and well-prepared.

We loved our stay in Oban and Raniven Guest House was a great place from which to explore it. Stuart and Moyra were lovely hosts, very welcoming and helpful, and the accommodations were clean, comfortable, and tastefully decorated. The buffet breakfast included not only a full continental breakfast, but several hot plates as well, and was easily comparable to the "Full Scottish" breakfast served at other B&Bs.

Stellar, friendly, helpful hosts (thanks Mark & Jan!), fab room with stain glass window and breath-taking view of the sea and promenade, Mark's Scottish Breakfast utterly delicious, lovely attention to detail including snifter of sherry, great location next door to beautiful ruin (Dunollie Castle) we will come back. Fiona was so so kind and helpful--we were a bit late checking in because we missed a train, and she responded immediately to my email and was very understanding! The guest house was comfortable, clean, and conveniently located up Jacob's Ladder. We had a great time in Oban and in Tobermory and would definitely recommend. It goes without saying

The Old Manse is a delightful place to stay. The owners are great hosts and they have an attention to detail. Upon arrival they helped us with our bags and offered us a cold beer. The decor in the room we stayed in was superb and we had a great nights sleep. Breakfast was delicious but a little more variety could have helped. -

It was our first trip with our 6 week old baby - the hotel could not have been more welcoming! As it is a high standard of formal dining offered at the hotel we were uncomfortable taking our baby in to the dining room, the staff set up a small private dining experience for us so we could still have a lovely dinner but not disturb other guests!
