Owners could not haveneen more helpful and welcoming. We were walking the cosstal path and stayed in many b&b's/guest houses during the time. We had tead dreadful reviews pn the Gallery and, based on tese, were very worried about what we would find. We need not have worried. The Gallery is a wonderful place to stay. Clean, warm, comfortable and the most beautiful location. We booked cooked breakfast, with one guest needing to be gluten free, and every effort was made to make sure that this . todos opiniões »
Location was perfect for exploring Port Isaac and walking on the coastal
trail. We stayed in the "suite" - have no clue why it is
called a suite unless reference to "en-suite". Just a small
bedroom. A nice table to watch out on the harbor and street. Overlooks
the old school house and directly across the harbor from the "doc
martin" house. It is nice to stay in town to get the evening and
early morning to wander around with only a few other people. From 10am
to 4pm the town is packed full of pe.
Jo and Martin were absolutely fantastic hosts, so welcoming and accommodating. We felt so comfortable staying at the Gallery. The room was spotlessly clean, the view was "out of this world", the breakfast was always delicious and the information they gave us about the area and places of interest was so helpful. We would definitely highly recommend the Gallery to others visiting Port Isaac and when we come back we will book at the Gallery! Thank you for such a pleasant stay.
Prime location overlooking the harbour, in a comfortable, quirky room (I
was in the suite which has its own bathroom). Particularly loved the
seating area in the window. If you like hermetically-sealed, bland
accommodation, or want to socialise over breakfast with fellow
residents/landlord, then this isn't for you. But if you value
your privacy and are looking for a fabulous seaview location, I can
thoroughly recommend this little gem.
The view from the window overlooking the harbour was excellent. The breakfast was very good quality and plenty of it for a continental style. The room was clean tidy and very comfortable. The owner and and helper were very friendly and left us to ourselves unless were needed. Forget the negative reviews on here, this place is a must and you should try it out for yourselves.
An excellent comfortable bed and breakfast. I paid a bit dearer for an ensuite room which had a superb view over the harbour, a large very comfy bed and lovely cool sheets. Breakfast is served in the room
It was a delight to be served a breakfast of fresh fruit , flakes, toast ,croissant and jams at a small table looking out over the view .
Our room had unobstructed views of the bay and the hills opposite - (including Doc Martin's house). Breakfast was served in the room so we could eat while sitting in the bay window watching the world go by. It is in the centre of the village so restaurants are easily reached within in few minutes.
We loved the location and the view. The hotel is comfortable, country elegant, above an impressive art gallery, fresh flowers and fruit in the room. It was a highlight of our trip. I noticed that it is a place where locals vacation, a 15th century authentic Cornish fishing seaside village. Julie.
I loved the location ,people very friendly room was very nice furniture a mix of old and new very well done .Breakfast was delivered to our room and was very nice , we had a nice stay . The town was great people friendly I had a great time.
The location is fantastic, the rooms are nicely decorated, the breakfast in the morning is great, there was a beautiful garden at the back and Martin (the owner) is very welcoming and entertaining in a rather zany/liberal way!.
The superb view from our window of the entire harbour, beautiful rolling hills. Friendliness of the staff. Clean white sheets and continental breakfast served in your room. Loved the garden, what a hidden gem.
Beautiful quaint attic room overlooking harbour, right in Doc Martins village.Suituaited right in the middle of harbour, with pubs and restaurants on your doorstep.Lovely continental breakfast served to our room.
From the welcome received by the owner and staff,to the excellent feel and facilities of the Gallery,we were thoroughly delighted with our stay, and will look forward to making this our haven away from home.
The Gallery was a perfect place to stay from arrival through to departure. A warm welcome, a beautiful room with sea view and a bountiful breakfast (delivered to the door). I can't fault it!.
Location was excellent with the female hostess very helpful in all aspects. The continental breakfast was more than adequate. My wife and I would definitely stay there again.
Brilliant room with a big comfortable bed. Brilliant views. Perfect access to everything we needed. Table and chairs by the window were just what we needed to look around.
Comfortable room with good view. Friendly staff and liked the breakfast. Excellent location both in Port Isaac itself and for easy access to other places of interest.
We found Martin (Owner) to be really helpful, we arrived quite late but he was able to get us booked in and settled. Slight error with the keys but soon sorted.
Location (right in the centre of the village) and view from the room (overlooking the harbour) was fantastic. I would be very happy to stay here again.
The location and the view were amazing. Joanna was so helpful and provided us with a fantastic breakfast. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.
What can I say, the whole experience blew me away. And to top it off to have the cast of 'Doc Martin' on locatiön was the cherry on top.
Superb location. Nowhere better located. Nice breakfast-just right amount. Joanne and martin both v friendly. Really relaxing few days.
The Gallery was spotless and a great view over the bay. Martin recommended The Mote for an evening meal. Excellent on all fronts.
The friendly atmosphere and excellent location with beautiful views. A very relaxing and chilled out break. Brilliant food.
Set in a beautiful coastal town with, views overlooking natural fishing harbour. confortable and immaculate presentation.
Located yards from the harbor, good size room, large bed, breakfast delivered to your door and very friendly host.
It was an excellent location to visit the port. Fun to watch the street
activity. Room was confortable.
Excellent location, very friendly, helpful host, delicious breakfast delivered to our door and clean.
The location looking out over Port Isaac. The host Martyn was friendly and interesting.
It was a lovely resort, Staff at the gallery were very helpful. The view was fantastic.
The whole place was very cute, even nicer than it looked online.
The host was lovely.
Location with magnificent view over Port Isaac waterfront. Nice breakfast provided.
Very clean and spacious room.
Fabulous veiw into harbour.
Friendly hosts.
Fantastic location and hospitable host. Great view from our window.
Great location - fantastic views from bedroom.
Location superb over looking the harbour.
View from room 1 was amazing. Loved it.
The view from the bedroom window.
Fabulous view, comfortable room.
Decoration breakfast , staff.
everything about it superb.
Absolutely gorgeous little place to stay in, the room was very clean and the staff very helpful. Breakfast was served at 9am every morning and my mum and i could eat it sitting at the window looking over the bay and Doc Martins house. we loved Port Isaacs and the Gallery was a lovely place to stay.
I would highly recommend this place as we loved it, especially for DM fans.
We liked this place because it was friendly, peaceful and very quaint.
Port Isaac is a beautiful place to stay and there is a lovely walk up on the hill and around the coast.
the location is very attractive and we loved the raised secluded rear garden.Room was comfortable. We had the added bonus of seeing some of a popular TV sereis being filmed.
The Gallery was a great location with amazing views of Port Isaac! Owner is quite a character and a good laugh.
Great Location, views of harbour, easy walking access to harbour and coastal path.
The location was well represented and just what we wanted.
Nice location overlooking Port Isaac harbour.
Nice view.
View Room.
Bathroom was very basic, shower curtain would be nice as would enough
light to see.
Only that our holiday came to an end and we didn't get to stay longer!.
A pot of coffee with the breakfast tray would have been nice.
Nothing. It was lovely.
N/A.
It was my first BB so some thing I missed was soap for the shower ,a hand towel ,I would have liked a better towel for the shower ,we shared a bathroom which I wasn't keen on. Parking was hard work .
The check-in and check-out was rather precarious. You weren't sure when breakfast was going to be served and didn't seem to have the opportunity to ask although I'm sure Martin would have accommodated any request.
Nothing, the walk to and fro the car park has stunning views of the sea/coast so was hardly a chore.
Paid parking up until 6pm,then free until 9 am,and a bit of a walk up the steep hill, but manageable with out luggage.Maybe also better contact on check out with host.
Very little to comment on ,I suppose parking may be an issue to some guests, but you cannot have the location we had in Port Isaac and parked your car there,it is a harbor with narrow streets..so it was not a problem for us to park about 350 yards away in the public car park.
Not much.
If we had been told about parking, that would have been easier; very difficult place to park. Shower was ineffective.
The room would benefit from a proper area for the kettle to stand.
The Seagulls! Not the Gallery's fault but they were pretty loud at 5am.
As the car had to be parked uphill a couple of blocks away, some guidance re: handling luggage would have been helpful.
The toilet was challenging and we were advised that the flushing leaver needed to be pumped 3 times but was still difficult.
Nothing.
Nothing.
The only downside is no en-suite, my fault for not checking that before I booked therefore the room a bit pricey.
There were no dislikes. It was what it was.
Steep steps to third floor room, may not suit older travellers and shared bathroom for the same reason.
Only downside was shared bathroom facilities.
We left before breakfast was available.
Lack of parking.
It was very expensive to stay at the gallery. Port Isaac is very expensive.
Car parks quite a steep walk away and more expense.
Had trouble with the shower.
The room had all you'd hope for however it was a bit small for a "Suite".
Nothing.
Nothing.
Toilet didn't flush properly. Needs a new diaphragm.
3 flights up is difficult with a lot of luggage.
Nothing.
parking.
room was cold with one little heater on all day which didn't make much of a difference.
Shower power was weak and either freezing cold or very hot, and toilet was temperamental to flush
perfect location for what we wanted but a little expensive.
The shared bathroom badly needs an upgrade. No car parking on site but due to the location this is impossible to improve on.
The service was very inconsistent. Rooms sporadically made up, if at all. Breakfast was ok, but also inconsistent. Owner often not available for check in or check out.
Parking 10 minutes away in car park - £4.70 a day. Shares bathroom with 2 other couples.
The bathroom was not as pictured on the website. It is small, dark and poorly furnished. The toilet didn't work.
Staff was brusque and not helpful.
Over priced compared to other establishments used during my holiday.
Lack of en suite facilities.
Limited breakfast choice.
Room 1 was small, bathroom barely functional, toilet didn't flush, room was hot with not even a fan, breakfast was mediocre, no onsite parking.
Value for money - Breakfast -No choice of cereal, only 1 small glass of
juice, no choice of fruit (1 small tangerine that was dry) Croissants
burnt on top. Room could be cleaner. Not really as described (came
across as a suite).
