On Lowestoft seafront, The Sandcastle is a Victorian house overlooking the sandy beach. It is a flat, 10-minute walk from Lowestoft town centre, and serves home-cooked breakfasts made with local produce.
Each pretty bedroom has a different décor, but all have a Sony TV and free Wi-Fi. Some bedrooms have views across the sea. Bathrooms are inside or outside the room, and some have unique power showers.
The Sandcastle's friendly owners have created a relaxed atmosphere, and serve a full breakfast in the morning. Eggs and meat are from local farms, and the kippers are from a Lowestoft smokehouse. There are also homemade marmalades and jams to try.
Lowestoft Train Station is just 650 metres away, and has a direct link to Norwich. Pubs, bars and eating places can all be reached on foot.

The room was very clean and comfortable. The shower and loo were up a small flight of stairs and was in quite a small room but that wasn't a problem. Breakfast was excellent. We would be very happy to stay here again.
Lovely room and comfy bed overlooking the sea. Extra surprise was having real ground coffee available in the room which I've never had at a B & B before. And v nicely cooked and generous breakfast.
Clean, comfortable room with good shower with a great view of the sea. Excellent breakfast! It was good to have both tea and "real" coffee making options in our room. Easy convenient parking.
The breakfasts, the welcome, the staff and the location were all excellent. It was especially good that the owners sourced local produce for the breakfasts. The room had a great outlook.
Bedroom and separate bathroom were very clean and comfortable. Owners were away but other staff looked after us very well. Excellent food and excellent value for money.
clean, welcoming, lots of tea, coffee and milk, good breakfast, free on road parking, sea view. Will definitely stay again if I need a B&B in Lowestoft.
Extremely hospitable hosts, friendly and welcoming
Breakfast was excellent, both food and setting
Would certainly go back and/or recommend to others.
We had the 3rd floor en suite room and it was wonderful. A huge bath room with tub and shower. I would stay there again. Plus a great breakfast.
Comfortable & location good although road closure caused us some problems getting to location, would stay again though when visiting family.
Very comfortable cosy room. Good furniture, very comfortable bed,
excellent wet room. Good selection of tea/coffee. Love the china.
The room was lovely and clean and i loved the décor! Very friendly staff and an excellent cooked breakfast .
The hosts were very welcoming . Lovely ,freshly cooked breakfast . Room was well decorated and comfortable.
Had a wonderful stay. Gorgeous room in a great location! Excellent shower pressure too :-).
The room lovely staff very helpful and friendly and breakfast lovely will come back.
The friendliness of the owners and the overall experience of staying there.
Very nice and friendly owners. Very nice English breakfast included.
Host and hostess love their work and nothing was too much trouble.
very clean and tidy, excellent service
very fresh looking.

We were contented with everything.
room was coomfy nice sea view.
typical England.
room and food.
all of it.
Room was clean and comfortable, good information etc. Breakfast was - good - cooked as I'd asked.
everything was just fine.
The shower door was dodgy to open and get in - if I had been a 'bigger' person I would have worried about busting it! But a minor quibble really - a lovely place and I will visit again and like to stay in the same room.
nothing negative to say!.
It was not mentioned that the external bathroom was on a different landing and on a curve in the stairs. Very difficult for my mother, as was the fact that the breakfast room was down 2 flights of stairs. I also found it odd that I was asked to choose my breakfast the day before!.
Stairways were a bit narrow and twisty.
Would have preferred separate shower to wet room, but not really an issue if ever in same room again.
wet room very small & had to take towels toilet roll out otherwise they got wet, also didnt get hot water, was luke warm.
Husband vegetarian so asked for tomatoes on toast for breakfast, ended up with one slice of bread with cherry tomatoes on bit stingy. I asked for scrambled eggs & ended up with fried. Only one bottle of water in room & no chocolate biscuits as advertised.
Stairs but then we are a mature couple. Perhaps more hand rail would
be helpful.
Not much to do in lowestoft.
The shower was not very warm.
The external (separate) toilet reduced comfort a little bit.
no telephone in room.
shower room dirty milk off in room door to enter room had to be pushed really hard as was sticky not very good if you had to get out in a hurry.
Welcome on arrival was OK but not exactly much warmth - I'm not looking fro something over the top, but put a lot of store by how cutomers are greeted.
