Everything! The room and view were gorgeous, the decor and facilities well thought out and the food was beautiful. In fact, it was the first time in a long time that my husband had ordered a steak and got it cooked perfectly - first time. Nothing was too much trouble. The weather was lovely, so we chose to eat lunch in the private garden across the road/lane from the hotel. We were waited on exactly the same as if we were in the restaurant. Also the atmosphere in the hotel lounge and bar was very pleasant. All the staff were obliging and helpful. Not many hotels offer this quality of accomodation and facilities. Only thing it would be short on is maybe leasure facility like pool\sauna but guess this would make it a Hotel rather than a pub. Most pleasant and relaxing break. Nice, clean and fresh room with comfortable bed, and beautifully decorated. Food was excellent especially the Smoked Duck and there was plenty of choice. Unfortunately, only one of the windows could be opened. There’s nothing to not like. small point but prefer wine to be opened at table not brought to dinner table already uncorked. Can't think of anything negative to be honest. Although the room was decorated to high standard we had no access to windows which we really missed. This would certainly not prevent us from returning or recommending (which I already have done to my work colleagues) but would prefer to stay within the main hotel. grubby carpets in corridors bedroom adequate but would benefit from complete refurb. The only difficulty was where to put our wet clothes in the beautiful tidy and clean room after going on a wet walk. Nothing. Wi fi a little unreliable. We were there at the same time as two large groups so I think we may have been put in the "substitute room" and forgotten about - staff seemed a bit overwhelmed with the two large groups and how busy it was which is not their fault but there should be more on when they know they are busy. Small room, poor bed/mattress, no shower and no cold water. Booked deluxe room and was allocated worst room in the Hotel. Only a slit for a window overlooking car park at feet level..!.
