700 ft above the village of Kinlochleven to the north.
700Ft above sea level on the slopes of Am-Bodach, with spectacular views over Loch Leven. Down to the pap of Glencoe stands Mamore Lodge on its eerie like perch. Mamore was built at the turn of the century for Captain Frank Bibby.
Bibby is possibly the worlds oldest independent shipping company and is now run by the sixth generation. The family were great hosts and entertained King Edward, Viscount Churchill and Sir Henry Fairfax-Lucy. Deer still roam the estate and with its spectacular landscape it has featured in the films Rob Roy and Brave Heart.
The Estate covers 45,000 acres. Munro peaks over 3,000ft, giving access to lots of high and low level walks from the lodge itself. It is also known as a great place to stay by those walking the West Highland Way, a now famous long distance walk. Well situated for exploring the West Highlands by car, with many beautiful areas just a day trip away, you'll be sure of a friendly welcome on return.
Mamore Lodge has retained much of its original character. Built to withstand the extremes of the Highland winters, it stands as firm as on the rock it was built. Inside, the hotel has 12 comfortably appointed rooms, 10 of which are en suite, most of them retaining the lovely pitch pine panelling, a further 5 twin rooms with en suite are provided in the nearby motel.
The dining room, guests lounge and bar all have views out onto the surrounding mountain scenery; the bar with its open fire is an ideal place to relax before enjoying one of our wonderful tasty meals.

This hotel has not been available for years since the tenant was made bankrupt by the freehold. Location/scenery, meal portion size, amount of "places to visit" leaflets available. The hospitality and company of the staff, the nearness to some of the best hill walking in the land and the log fire in the bar. the hotel was lovely and the staff friendly. Great food and excellent views. todos opiniões »

This accommodation has not been available for years since rio tinto made the owners bankrupt! !. This hotel has not been available for years since the freeholder made tenant bankrupt. No, however, this is an old building and the owning company needs to recognise the need to maintain such a building. smell of damp Not propely heated. Did not did top up tea and coffe each day. during 4 days of my stay the didnt replace bath towels for fresh once. I have a comment about the site for improvement.Regarding shower in bothroom. Shower works okay. But hot water did not come out long time. Iwould like them to improve it.Cleanliness, hotel was tatty and needs upgrading as furniture was very worn and rooms seemed patched up very shabbily. Food was extremely overpriced for the quality of it. Microwaved, prepackaged with a hair. Dirty bar glasses. Everything needs a good clean. Showers flooded floor if they had hot water, no sound on telly. Seems owners are playing hotel even though they were very nice. very out of date in need of new decor. The access was difficult, the outward appearance of the hotel was very poor, the internal appearance was no better. The staff including the owner were unfriendly and lacking in any sort of customer service, e.g. on arrival we were told that if we wanted to eat it had to be immediately as there was not much left.Having gone through the above we, reluctantly agreed a cancellation fee and left.
