  A return visit for 3 nights, after a 16 year gap! The hotel has changed hands since then and is almost unrecognisable from the previous visit. We had a room with a colourful garden view and enjoyed 3 peaceful nights sleep. Lovely grounds overlooking Lake Windermere and hills beyond, 2 comfortable lounges, a lovely outside terrace and large conserv... o que as pessoas dizem » atory with large panoramic windows used as a dining area for all meals. The food and service was excellent. Plenty of choice for the self service buff - I stayed here by myself for 2 nights. I had a standard single room, which was just what I need with plenty of space too. The beds were comfy, tea and coffee making facilities and some delicious homemade shortbread provided too. I felt very welcome from the minute I stepped through the door, especially as it was the first time I'd stayed away on my own. Nothing was an issue, and with the perfect weather it was pleasant to sit outside in the garden and enjoy a view of Lake Windermere. Service was

  We stayed at the Hare & Hounds for three nights and had a wonderful time there. We booked the standard room which although small was very cosy, well equipped and had a great en-suite ( really good size with a very powerful shower). Kerry is an excellent host - nothing's too much trouble.
