  I found the whole experience wonderful. The visit was planned as a birthday suprise for my partner on her birthday. When I booked I mentioned this in the special requirements and asked for wine in the room on arrival and a suprise birthday cake. The hotel did not let us down. It was excellent. Their local knowledge was spot on as well and directed us to a local walk to waterfalls. I am also gre - I stayed at the Riverdale for two nights with my Partner as visiting family and friends in the area and to go to Bellingham show. Over the years I have been for a meal at the Riverdale many times and always found the food and service very good and this visit did not dissapoint. For families having a swim or sauna before a meal is a great idea and is free if you are dining. The room was very comfortable and clean and had a lovely view.
