Skene Suites Holburn far exceeded our expectations. We had booked a 3 bedroom suite as we were grandparents and parents with 2 year old and 4 month old baby. I cannot speak highly enough of the suite we had- masses of space, lovely lounge , excellent and well equipped kitchen . very large bedrooms - in fact perfect for our needs. Definitely recommend highly. We stayed over weekend, so it will be more "budget-friendly" category for tourists. Yet, the room facilities and the entire hotel facilities are offering more "Luxury" for all guests. All properties are located at the quiet residential areas lined with traditional architectures. Staff are all professional and guarantees the comfort of stay.

Lots of room! - Having in-room laundry--though the average load took 3 hours to complete. - Location because downtown was a ten-minute walk away. - Very friendly staff--and restaurant recommendations were much appreciated. - Excellent breakfast buffet. Great customer service and value for money. A great welcome and staff who were eager to help in any way possible. Cleanlinees was fabulous. Lovely apartment, nice touch with name plate on rear door to Reception. Good parking. Wireless internet - great for kids Ipads at night. Spacious. Great hospitality. Fully functional kitchen that allows you to cook real meals, supplied by a well-stocked Sainsbury's just round the corner. Lovely sitting room in which to have private conversations and watch tele late into the night. Feels like home. Exceptionally clean and comfortable, excellent service from the staff. A suite for the price of a normal double bedroom - worked perfectly for my husband and I and our 18-year-old daughter. Couldn't fault the overall experience. This hotel was in a great location. (Since we also used the hotel's basement laundry room, we got a wonderful workout going up and down the steps!) Also, basement laundry machines (washer and dryer) required three hours per laundry load.). Nothing. A bit of a walk from the railway station. The parking area is difficult to find if you don't know central Aberdeen - detailed instructions on the letsbookhotel.com page would have been helpful. Also, no lifts! If you can't manage flights of stairs, specify a ground floor suite when you book. (We were on the top floor - a struggle with heavy suitcases, though the concierge did help). We stayed there in September and it was warm enough to make the apartment stuffy (since there is no AC). So we opened all the windows and at night it was super loud from all the bar patrons from across the street. This is no fault of the hotel's, however, it did make for a long night... Heavy doors that wouldn't stay open and one that shut with a 'bang' every time. Was a challenge to carry heavy cases up and down the stairs. N/A. We generally do not like modern duvets which appear to make bodies too hot!. U Unfortunately it was very hot and not all windows could be opened. n.a. Stairs with no lifts available. No complaints. nothing! It was all excellent. Trying to find the Car Park, need more information. Breakfast choice not as good as it used to be. The only problem was the shower! Temperature is difficult to regulate!. Rooms were warm no air con which would probably not be an issue but very hot weekend. Also noisy late at night as bar within close proximity. Décor a little bit dated. Apartment separate from hotel - did not like split level (toilet and kitchen in basement) - a bit dark. Extractor fan in toilet like a jet engine. Apartment either too hot/stuffy or too cold. All internal doors very heavy - fire doors - difficult of open with suitcases/bags etc. Because the doors front and in the apartment were heavy fire doors they were very loud when other customers shut them, especially as some came back in the early hours. McGinty's bar for food! Although the staff were lovely as was the atmosphere. Inability to keep doors open (lounge, bedroom). I feel the many doors in the suites could have had door stops. There was no way to keep them open which allowed which mant everything felt very closed off. Having to choose between 'young couple' and 'mature couple' on the feedback - where do 34 & 39 year olds fit in? ;0) Aberdeen itself wasn't great but the suite was lovely. Hair-drier was not working!. Liked everything. Too many stairs as we were givena top floor suite. Ok for us but some would struggle. No mirror in bedroom. We were on the 6th floor and no lift. Need an elevator. Too many steps. 4 flights of stairs to room, and location could be loud, especially weekends (i.e. downtown). No elevator (be careful if you have lot of luggage and you are on a 2nd / 3rd floor: ask for help!). The doors were so heavy, quite difficult to open and I felt a bit trapped when they were closed. The shower was a bit rubbish, not much power. These are silly wee points, can't really fault Skene House for service or accommodation. Also apologies for not giving a tip to the lovely concierge who carried our bag.... We're Scottish, we got confused!!. Breakfast on Sunday chaotic at 9am no fruit in bowl no cereal bowls then had to wait ages for tea and coffee as they had run out of pots then we only got 1 slice of toast. Lack of indication of the access to the Car Park. leaving.
