Excellent hotel from A-Z. As a frequent traveler i don't get overexcited easily, but this hotel really deserves the max points. If you have the chance, take the suite having two balconies with direct view of the Matterhorn - awesome and worth every single buck. Most amazing for Switzerland: Even the staff is super friendly and helpful! -

We were pleasantly surprised to stay at the Hotel Communal as our original hotel couldn't fulfill the reservation. Ideal base for the Portes du Soleil with Morgins 15 mins away, and Chatel 25 mins without having to pay the prices of hotels in those resorts.

It's very conveniently located for the Sunnegga/Rothorn funicular and Gornergrat train. The staff were very kind and helpful to my elderly parents. Excellent buffet breakfast - really very good for this category of hotel. The pine bar area and restaurant are simply and attractively styled. The food was good value by Swiss standards. -

The host Christoph Imboden is fantastic. He was very helpful during our stay and provided important information for maximizing our visit to the Zermatt area (seeing the Matterhorn, etc.). Charming town, excellent staff who were extremely helpful and attentive. Breakfast had a good variety and was well replenished. Internet strength was good throughout hotel. Free daily transport to the slopes. Highly recommend this hotel to others. Thanks for the memories. -

We loved the hotel and the location. The staff was very friendly and unquestionably efficient. The spa was first rate with an amazing pool, Jacuzzi and a northern style sauna. We thoroughly enjoyed this aspect. We made full use of the kitchen facility since we were a couple with 6 (hungry!)college age kids. We cooked all of our meals in the kitchen.
