  Room was very clean; fresh linens every day. I found it to be quiet. Location allowed me to walk to many of the tourist destinations. The location was absolutely brilliant, right in the heart of Santa Cruz and close to the cathedral. It was amazing to get such good value accommodation in this spot. The staff were lovely, and we really enjoyed our stay here. The facilities are basic, but for people on a budget, the Vergara is a cut above.

The man in reception took out maps, bus timetables etc. and worked out how to get there for us and which bus to take. The woman in the morning was equally as helpful in recommending a good place for breakfast.   We loved the location and the extra space. Been travelling for a long time and enjoyed being able to cook our own meals. There is a better supermarket than those named by the apartment next to the #11 red bus stop (ask at the tourist information). BEST OF ALL... we had a problem with two broken lights and toaster. Next to everything but still in a small street. Only as noisy as the noise was from the the cute bar around the corner. Didn't bother us. Was easy to come and go.
