Location was great - in the historic city centre, you can enjoy a walk to many places of interest. Opera metro station is just 1 minute from hostel. 24 hours supermarket is almost next door. My window was on pedestrian street Arenal, where people are walking all night long, but it wasn't noisy, I easily fell asleep (with closed window). Very safe district of Madrid. Staff was very friendly and helpful. I checked in at night and man didn't speak english, but it was ok for checking in, showing my

Hostal Mendoza is located in perfect place: next to the central street
of Madrid - Gran Via and Puerta del Sol, where you can take the tourist-

The location is superb (if a little hard to find down a side street). Staff were very friendly and went out of their way to do everything to make our stay perfect. Was concerned a "hostal" might not be up to scratch but it was like any other 3 star accommodation. Room was large with fairly new ensuite and very comfy beds. There was nothing we didn't like and would definitely stay again.

Maid rearranged room for us after first night to better suit our needs(2 twins beds to a pseudo-double) and tidied our sloppy shoes.
Ultra clean. Like spotless. Pressed sheets.
I found this property with a price filter but will make a bee line there next time.

The hotel was excellent, clean and a very good price. Staff was very friendly and spoke good English. Hotel is in the centre of Madrid so when you go behind the corner, you are immediately in the shopping streets. We highly recommend this hotel and will visit again when we'd go back to Madrid! A+ -

I liked everything about this hostel. It is on the 5th floor but
don't worry because they do have an elevator. The place was recently
renovated so everything is new, modern, and beautifully decorated
w/TV and nice quiet a/C. Even though it is on a very busy main
street, my room #12 was quiet because it faced into a courtyard. Wi-Fi
was free and worked great. The location could not be better. I could
walk to Sol, Plaza Mayor, the Royal Palace and gardens, Plaza Espagna,
and the Opera house. The

It is a very comfortable apartment style hotel with full kitchen. The office is right down stairs. The administrative people are very nice and helpful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room had been newly renovated and was kept extremely clean. There were two sets of double paned windows to keep out the street noise. The Museo del Jamon was right next to the hotel and is a great place to get breakfast, lunch, snacks, coffee or beer/wine. We would definitely return.
