In the main building, there is a bar with a lounge area featuring plush chairs and a fireplace. Guests can play a game of billiards or swim in the outdoor pool. Younger guests can enjoy the playground. The Nest Drakensberg Mountain Resort Hotel offers free private parking on site.

Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were very comfortable and I loved the view from the verandah. There was a huge amount and variety of spaces to relax in to suit the weather conditions. (I loved the lounges with the fires burning when the weather was cold and the verandah when it was warmer.). Staff were attentive and friendly, appeared to enjoy their job! We did not avail outselves of all the facilities at Ardmore, but drove there to see the weave and pottery. It was not very welcoming.

From Johannesburg; - In Harrismith, take the N5 to Bethlehem/Kestell for 4 km - Take exit Bergville/Qwa Qwa and follow for 8 km. - Take the R74 Bergville/Oliviershoek Pass. - Stay on the R74 past Bergville into Winterton. - Take the first right on R600, opposite the Engen petrol station. - Follow the R600 for 20 km, and the hotel entrance will be on the right. From Durban: - Take the N3 North until exit 179 (Estcourt North/Giants Castle) - At the stop, turn left and drive 30 km to the intersection and turn left onto the R600. - Follow the R600 for 7 km, and the hotel entrance will be on the right.
