Quiet delightful location, upon arrival we were offered an upgrade from a 1 bedroom studio to a 2 bedroom villa, this was a most unexpected and appreciated welcome.. The villa was the most spacious, comfortable well appointed accommodation we experienced in our one month tour of NZ. Clever design and positioning of each villa ,french doors leading out onto sunny wrap around veranda made our stay very enjoyable. Acres of beautiful landscaped gardens surround the villas, pool, tennis courts, top.

Great location just a short drive, or walk to Huka Falls and very convenient for Taupo itself about 5 mins drive to town. Quiet setting in your own lodge with a nice deck to sit outside and take in the peacefulness and enjoy the sunshine. The whole place seemed very well maintained inside and out with free wifi which is not so common in NZ. Would definitely stay again on a longer trip using it as a base to tour Tongariro and. We booked a Studio unit on line for a 1 night stay on 28 October, upon arrival we were advised that we had been upgraded to a 1 bedroom suite that had a king size bed. This unit was very spacious and had a spa bath which was very relaxing. The resort was around 3 minute's north of Taupo, the Hauka Falls were just down the road. The main state highway was visible from the unit, no road noise could be heard. All together a very relaxing stay for us seniors. The resort is located very close to lake Taupo. Each cabin is separate and located a decent distance from its neighbor. Staff was helpful. Decor is dated, there are no frills. we did get upgraded to a two bedroom unit. There was lots of room for luggage in the bedroom. The wifi was tempermental, but when we complained, the staff attended to it and it started working. Would recommend this resort, good value. We used it as an overnight stopover going to a wedding in Auckland the following day.It was an excellent private retreat,perfect for our needs,we even saw a little rabbit on the lawn while sitting on the deck at sunset.Good comfortable accommodation and quiet for restful sleep.Will definitely stay over again,and I must add I have stayed over in Taupo many times in the past 20years.. Was perfect in every way! Great place where you can base yourself and head out in any direction. Just down the road and close to all shops, cafe, and Lake Taupo but far enough that your in your own hidden wonderland. We booked in for 3 nights and ended up staying 5! We will be staying here again for sure next time we come back to NZ! Highly recommend!. A pleasant surprise on arrival was an upgrade from a studio to a one-bedroom lodge giving us more space. Loved the colonial buildings of the village. We liked the timber features in the lodge and it was very well-appointed. There was a lovely atmosphere and we were very handy for Taupo and our event which was in Spa Road. Comfortable and good value. Fantastic stay, great rooms. We paid $180(ish) for 2 nights, which is similar to what we paid at a cheap airport hotel in Auckland. Yet the rooms at Huka we're spacious and comfortable, with a great kitchen and heaps of privacy. Also has amazing views and only 5mins drive into Taupo. Great value for money - would stay there again in a heartbeat. We just stayed overnight on our way to Matamata after work so was ideal for our short stay. Everything was comfortable,clean and tidy and we had everything we needed. We were towing a vehicle on a trailer so the large parking area was ideal especially as it was away from the road and safe to leave. The resort is situated close to Taupo's attractions as well as to the town centre. The apartment, we stayed in, was well equipped. It consisted of a bedroom, large living room with very well equipped kitchen, bathroom with separated toilet. Staff was halpful. Free wifi was provided. We loved the location and the little chalets we stayed in. The bar staff and outlook from the bar was superb. It was close to the highway and town. All in all a fabulous experience that we will be recommending to our friends. We will definitely be coming back. Modern, spacious, well appointed 2 bedroom cabin, more like a small house, complete with carport. Very comfortable for 2 couples. Great kitchen, spa bath, doubles (or larger) in both bedrooms. Good Location with quiet country outlook close to Huka falls. First impressions of our unit were excellent. Nice spacious unit, with tasteful décor. Tidy bathroom. Roomy beside cabinets and plenty of drawers and wardrobe space. Nice to have a carport for the car too. Two good heaters to deal with the cold night. Excellent place to stay in Taupo, close to the lake and the beautiful Huka Falls. We even got upgraded on arrival which was a huge bonus. Good kitchen facilities, clean and spacious flat in quiet green surroundings. Highly recommended!. Our room has been upgrade and it is nice and very comfortable. It is really worth for our money. The staff are so friendly and it is in a good location because it is between waterfall and town centre. I would recommend this resort . Although we arrived late we were welcomed by Anna who was very helpful in making bookings for dinner the following day and recommending things to do while we were staying. We loved the villa setting and would definitely stay again. We had the most amazing time and the studio was just beautiful overlooking the vineyard, and we could see Mt Ruapehu from the lounge room window...just amazing will be returning and recommending Huka Falls Resort to friends... I liked that we had covered parking in what can be a rainy location. I loved the look of the Villas and felt Like I was at home. The views were lovely and you were conveniently close to town yet with a countryside feel. the room layout and the space in there was great. Felt very private. The carport was great and the terrace around it cool. Felt like a little home and so cute. We're planning on coming back to stay longer next year. Location and the price for the size of the accommodation that we had. The bed was also very comfortable and the facilities available in the room were great. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The two-bedroom "cabin" was a surprise, but it worked quite well. It is located beautifully, so close to Huka Falls and the Craters of the Moon and also only a short distance from grocery shopping. The resort make an upgrade to a suite for us. Friendly staff and provide good advice to places of interest. Very peaceful place to rest and relax. Convenient place to town and Huka falls. The surroundings were so peaceful. the cottages are really nice. spacious, well equipped, clean with very comfy beds. Nothing to complain about. The location, surroundings, quality of accommodation, cleanliness and value for money were all outstanding. The self-contained cabin with room around it. The cabins face in different directions so it is not blocky. We were very impressed,a real gem hidden away from the noisy traffic,we were very pleasently surprised. I liked that the room was tidy. The size of the bathroom was perfect. All the necessities where there. we loved the space within the house and the natrual wood and spa bath bed was really nice and comfy. Thought the restaurant was very good. Liked the vines. Liked the set up with the little cabins. Nothing. The bed was hard, there were no blackout curtains or blinds on the bedroom window. It was very bright in the bedroom very early. There wasn't any furniture on the nice deck to take advantage of the surroundings. Whats not to like? It was perfect. The bedroom would have merited a small heater. It felt quite cold. Luckily there was an electric blanket. We couldn't find the resort in the dark, once we finally found the sign on Huka Falls Road,and then the sign on the fence we were right. A suggestion to put a light on the sign in the field on Huka Falls Road as it is hard to see at night. Otherwise all OK. None. All was excellent. Nothing - everything was excellent. On closer look: the fabric on the dining chairs was rotten and torn, the curtains were mismatched and poorly hung, the toilet seat didn't fit the bowl and felt like it was tipping me off to the side, the microwave looked like it belonged in a museum, the electric blanket had cold patches and the bed was really uncomfortable. There was nothing not to like !!. no real negitives, we were there for such a short time. The room was cold and very drafty. the back door was not properly sealed so cold wind from outside was blowing into the room all night long. A spa bath was provided, but the hot water cylinder in the unit does not hold enough hot water to fill it. So after it got half way full the water from the tap was cold. There was not enough heaters supplied with the unit to keep it warm during the winter. The heater in the lounge was good but because it was so drafty it could not keep the place warm. This is just personal preference, but I don't care for the English style of "separate toilet room with no sink.". Nothing, the place is just fine for us. Loved everything. Minor comments - electric heaters were noisy and kitchen and bathroom slightly outdated but very clean. The studio room was smaller than we expected...it was very difficult to watch t.v. because of the position it was set up..And we could hear the people in the room next door. There wasn't anything I found I didn't like. Not having a bed side unit on the kitchen side of the side. Nothing at all. Could do with a spar / or know where one is so we can relax after a hard day mountain biking. On the second morning of our stay we had NO hot water :( consequently no shower. The walls between our unit and the next were very thin and we could hear their muffled voices and walking on the wooden floor.We had a studio which didnt have a table so rather short of space for breakfast. Shower over the bath. 2 steps to climb. My sister who travelled with me has limited mobility and found this most difficult to maneuver. No clothes line - close to unit. My fault I should have checked on these when booking. The rooms were a bit run down, carpet threadbare in places and the curtains were very thin, a heat pump may have been more efficient at heating the whole cottage. Unfortunately the hotel put two young french ladies in studio which meant the deck was shared and the walls were thin so coversations were heard. There seemed to be plenty of vacanies elsewhere and it would have been nice to be a bit more private. Nothing. Nothing. It was all so great!. Nothing. No oven in the cabin we were allocated. We were able to move but one staff member seemed to think no oven in a "fully equipped" kitchen was normal!. Could hear the neighbours hot water cylinder. The toilet seat was loose and there was only one bed side table. the smoke alarm beeped thro out the night and it was up to high to sort it out. the table was a little wobby and needed looking at. A little noisy with a family next door. Maybe look at who your quests are. Taupo looked a little run down and where have all the good shops gone. Do not want to shop at $2 shops. Taupo needs to decide what it is - destination for what! Have a purpose and goal.
