We got a bargain, off season best time to take a break, we started with only going to stay for a night until we walked into our apartment, we immediately booked another night, the next day we discovered the area and decided to book in for 7 nights and explore the Coromandel Peninsula using the Paku Lodge as a base, as the apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, we stocked up with groceries, what a way to start the day, cooked breakfast on the deck, explore the Coromandel's and dinner at sunset . todos opiniões »
Loved everything, paku lodge was in the perfect spot only 40min each way from all the locations we wanted to visit. Also what shocked us with surprise was that all the utilities and facilities where all free at paku lodge, kayaking, fish and also the scenic view walk at the top of the mount it was defiantly a life time experience I will defiantly visit again this summer.
Great micro-location - on the inland side of Paku, protected from ocean weather but with a lovely view of the inlet, Tairua and the mountains behind it. Great place for hanging out by the ocean, taking a ferry, or walking (e.g. small hills, beaches, estuaries).
Very nice and relaxed, with a lovely owner and a nice, spacious room.
The location was great next to the tidal estuary where we could watch the tides come and go.
Easy access to the shops and the Coramandel Peninsula.

Nice quiet location with beautiful view(although the workmen creating new marina were an eyesore but thats to be expected and not permanent).
Perfect location with magic view. Close to great cafe, easy walk. Love having balcony to relaxing and have breakfast enjoy the stunning view. Close Paku Hill walk to see across harbour and the beaut of NZ.
Loved the view, access to the beach, close to cafes. The unit was really clean and comfortable and had a balcony over looking the sea. Perfect. Will definately stay there again.
We liked the quality, tasteful decor of the place. The kitchen is well equipped and modern. Beds are comfortable! We love the outlook and peaceful surroundings.

There was nothing that I could not like even the price was amazing for everything that was available and especially the ocean views.
The macro-location has some downsides - Tairua is a small town and has seen two of its few restaurants close just recently, so you basically need an advanced reservation to eat at any of the remaining ones. On top of that, the only (and small) supermarket in town closes very early, so you're best bet is to bring food with you into town and cook for yourself, in your hotel room. Luckily the kitchen in the room was quite functional, if a little minimal.

Builders a bit noisy during the day(but to be expected and new marina will be great when finished).
Small TV screen; no radio except from poor reception on clock/radio.
Our stay was too short, wish it was longer.

The towels were not changed in the bathroom as we stayed for 2 nights.Due to the cost I would have thought that would have been done or asked us what we preferred. I realise some businesses do the eco-friendly option, but there was
no information in the room that I saw to suggest this.However this was not a huge problem.P.S my husband would have liked a bigger Tv in the room as you are usually watching while sitting on the bed.

the divan that my daughter was to sleep on was so uncomfortable she chose to sleep on the floor - a lot of money to pay just to sleep on the floor !!!!!.
The pull out beds were very uncomfortable not worth the money.
