Our usual Kota Kinabalu hotel was full so we hunted around for another good budget hotel. For us, this means a clean, quiet room with everything working and air con, but we're not after anything else, like freshly painted walls, colour coordination, throw pillows etc!

The staff at City Park Lodge were the best things over there. The rooms
were small and very basic but fine, but even when we missed our flight
early the next morning they were very accommodating and helped us in
whatever way they could!

"Auntie" and her daughter were the friendliest and most
welcoming hosts I ever had in any place I stayed at in se Asia. They
made you fee like you were family and were very sincere and genuine in
wanting to look after you and your needs. Sure, other places probably
have better facilities but they wouldn't have the kind of attention
