It was enormous fun to stay at this little apartment and experience a
traditional Japanese-style dwelling. Location is excellent, just 5 min
walk from the Kyoto railway station where both local jr and shinkansen
bullet trains stop. So this provides for convenient and stylish stop-
over base to explore the ancient Kyoto city while travelling on trains
across Japan.

Excellent location, very clean and comfortable little apartment:) Was expecting a bit more based on its money, but generally good.
Lots of space, great traditional feel.
Really close to Kyoto train station but that is right at the south end of the city.
The bathroom solution with washbasin mounted deep inside the shower
corner made it a bit awkward to use, but that was not a real problem as
it just added to peculiarity of this place.
- lighting on 2nd floor very dim.. (or we didn't find the right switch? =.=), so there was nothing we could do on 2nd floor (e.g. reading etc.) but sleep..
- staircase to 2nd floor very steep, may be a bit dangerous for family with elderly or small kids, but not a problem for us. And it was actually quite fun to climb the steep staircase because that's something we always see in Japanese shows:D.
We arrived at nigth and there was no lights on which made it hard to enter in the dark.
No WiFi in apartment, we spent a lot of time sitting on the street outside reception which is 2 blocks down to get internet access.
No clothes drying facilities.
Quite expensive for what you get.
