The location of Chizuru Ryokan couldn't be better for exploring the Peace Museum area. The owner was super friendly and went out of her way to be helpful. When we decided to stay an extra night and she didn't have space, we looked online and couldn't find anything open. When we explained that we wanted to stay in Hiroshima an extra night, she called around to find us a hotel five minutes walk away and since we didn't speak Japanese and she doesn't speak much English, she actually walked with.
todos opiniões » Conveniently located, no frills accommodation in Hiroshima. I stayed one night with my dad in a (very) little tatami-floored room with futons and shared bathroom facilities. Room was clean and the futons comfortable. Breakfast is not included. Yukatas and towels are provided. Booked it as a budget option and as such it didn't disappoint, I would recommend it if that's what you're after. Note that although it's called a ryokan, if you think you are getting the full-blown "ryokan experience" you . Beyond amazing staff! They went the extra mile for us. When arriving they assured us we could leave our lougage until check-in time and when we came back they were in our room! If that's not perfect service I don't know what is. The owners were so helpful and always greeted us every morning with a smile. Always helpful and willing to point us in the right direction. The rooms were neat and clean. I would give this a 10/10 experience. The room was comfortable and staff were incredibly helpful with helping me figure out how to get places and where I could eat. I have a gluten allergy so this is a major issue for me. It was such a delight to meet someone who was surprised but undaunted and even escorted me to a restaurant (pointing out other places that would or wouldn't work and why) and explained to them exactly what I needed. The lady who ran the ryokan was friendly and helpful, and despite her limited English and my even more limited Japanese we communicated well. The experience of staying in a Japanese style accommodation was fabulous, and made a nice change from the western hotels we had stayed in up to then. The rooms were spacious and air conditioned, futons and bedding surprisingly comfortable. Once we found the hotel the location was good. There were many restaurants and lots of shopping near by and it was very close to the Peace Park. It was only a few minutes walk from the Tram station. Our room was a great size. The staff were very friendly. There was only one bathroom which I thought would be a problem but actually we didn't have to wait to use it. Location - perfect location for experiencing Hiroshima. Easy walking distance to the Peace museum and park. Several blocks from the shopping arcade. Easy walking to restaurants. A block from the streetcar. We wanted to experience a Japanese Inn with futons, shared bath, simple accommodations. It was what we were looking for. A little like urban camping. it was the real mccoy. i gem. the shared bath proved not to be an issue. the wifi was great. the lady of the house offered me free kabuki tickets and the show was beyond any expectations i had. terrific. you are literally a block and change away from the peace park. you could not be more in the heart of things. . Location! On a 5 minute walk from the Peacenik Park. If you are a budget traveler, and you don't mind shared bathroom, it is perfect. clean room and bathroom. Since thera are only a couple of rooms, there is never a queue at shower, which is perfectly clean. Lovely owner, good wifi, good mattresses. The Ryokan is near basically everything, from the Genbaku Dome, to the center of the city and there are a lot of interesting places around it to visit. The room I was in was quite large (for Japanese standards) and very clean. The owners were very nice and helpful. Gracious hostess- helped us out with a laundry debacle that we brought from Tokyo. Also very comfortable pads on the tatami mats (as it would turn out, the most comfortable of the places we stayed.). The staff were very helpful and welcoming, recommending local okonomiyaki restaurants and even washing clothes for us. Very friendly.and. Japanese style we had a very spatious room (18 tatamis!) very quite place wonderfully located by the memorial and the night quarters. The lady who owns the place is ver very kind. She even came to drink tea with us. Close to the monument and stuff, very good. Location (3 minutes walk from Peace Park), nice owners, very good and comfortable futon bed, big onsen-like bath thub. Price was good and located in the center of Hiroshima on a quite road and close to shops and restaurants. Lovely staff, extremely helpful. The room is big and very simple. The owner was very friendly. The ryokan is close to the main shopping street, the Atomic Bomb Dome and the Peace Memorial Park. The rooms were clean, there is wifi in the ryokan and a refrigerator for general use. Hiroshima is very worth visiting, but not that big, so I would recommend it as a day trip from Kyoto by Shinkansen with a JR rail pass. Leaving. The map to find the hotel was not very clear and it took us nearly an hour walking the streets with our luggage to find it. Little English spoken - gad our daughter speaks Japanese. there are steep stairs to the second floor and while not a problem for myself, might be a problem for someone who does not do well with really steep stairs. Nothing, it is good value for money. Nothing much to complain for the price - a bit outdated feeling but nothing really important.... Does the job for a quick run through Hiroshima. Curfew at 11pm. Staff spoke very little English. Did not accept credit cards. There were no issues. Nothing that would bother me. Nothing. no lobby / sitting area. The beds where already fixed when we arrived. It is nicer with a low table and some pillows to sear and then in just before going to sleep change. Cold for end of november but a good heater in the room. Only one shower in the whole Ryokan. Though I was waking up early, so never had to wait. Also, you need to be back at a certain time because otherwise doors are closed. In my case however this was not a problem. When you have a hernia, sleeping on a futon on the tatami is a bit of a painfull problem. Room is too simple. Only one bathroom for all rooms. We paid for this very basic ryokan the same price per night for a 4 star hotel in the center of Tokyo. The owner is friendly, but doesn't speak any English, so do not expect specific questions to be answered. The tram ride to the central station takes about 20 minutes.
