The Knockranny Lodge overlooks Croagh Patrick Mountain and is less than one mile from Westport city centre. Rooms have satellite TVs and free Wi-Fi and free parking is available. Rooms at the Knockranny include bathrooms with baths, power showers and free toiletries. They also include hairdryers, tea/coffee making facilities and traditional breakfasts are served daily. The Lodge has its own tennis and basketball courts. Fishing and water sports are on offer at Clew Bay which is a 5-minute drive from the hotel. Westport has a good selection of restaurants, bars and shops. Westport House and Adventure Park offer activities for all the family.

It was very easy to find on the way into the town and only 5minutes walk. Staff were very friendly, especially the young girl who booked us in. We arrived on motorbikes and with the very hot weather and bike clothing etc, we were a bit exhausted. She kindly got us some pints of water, even though all fours of us arrived from our rooms at different times, she was happy to go each time to the kitch and get us the water. The rooms was quite pleasant and lovely view in staying front rooms.

Location very good- close to Spa, tennis court and Westport town. Parking. Breakfast was delicious- staff very efficient and helpful. Would not hesitate to book again!. very clean, saorview tv, friendly staff, nice full irish breakfast... not hounded out ar midday either... right next to knockranny spa hotel which has great food and drinks... 10-15 leisurely walk to town centre, which is no distance really... tennis court available too... Location was amazing. Very clean. Tv modern. Liked the freedom and non intrusive nature of venue. One small point maybe worth mentioning. bit of either low key music in background at breakfast or radio. Plus jugs water as well as juices. Staff lovely. The rooms we had were huge ,with seperate dressing area. The bathroom spotless with towels changed daily and free toiletries felt more like an hotel.The breakfast very good and staff very friendly. Children enjoyed free use of the tennis court. Great Guesthouse, I have not stayed in a B&B for years as I avoid them but this is more like a small hotel (without the bar). Would suit for anybody working in the area as well even though I don't know if evening meals are available. Great location jusy a walk away from the town. Staff were really friendly. I liked the location. Reasonable price. The room could have been a bit cleaner, someone previously had spilt something down the wall and scourting boards and it hadn't been cleaned. No plug for the sink, but really it wasn't a serious problem. more car space if possible, but it was full that night so no quibbles really.....very enjoyable stay. Not enough pillows and no Wii fi in bedroom. The choice of tv channels very limited. Our room was always too warm (& I'm a cold person!), so kept windows open all day & night; did not mention to staff as was not a big deal. Breakfast room needs a little music or tv noise in backround . When the room has only couples in it is quite uncomfortable to have a conversation in the silence . Small thing like jugs water at Breakfast along with juices would be good. tv didn't work properly but that could have been due to weather conditions!. Slightly awkward to find, on first arrival (for the unobservant!). No plug in the sink (room 15, I think it was). But hey, all else was just perfect!. The breakfast is relatively cheap, orange juice tasted like it cam eout of a tin can, could do a little better here as a B&B lives by the quality of its breakfasts. Coffee/tea not nice due to no fresh water. Our only gripe was that the tv had only 2 stations and neither of them was Irish. Ah just remembered, the cigarette waste box at the front door was very full for the two days we were there. Shower was difficult to manage. Nothing. noise outside. It was pretty basic, no lightbulb in one lamp, not much milk for tea but didn't complain!. I think its in need of some decorating on the inside. The rooms were basic but that were you were paying for. When I booked the guesthouse I thought I was booking a hotel because it is descibed as the Knockranny Lodge Hotel and it is not a hotel. Wewent to the hotel and they said this is always happening, so in futher I will be very careful. There was a noise outside our window that we attributed to the water pump or shower that was somewhat annoying in the morning but did not really take away from the experience. Difficult to find. play area had broken equipment. Nothing. Disinterested teenager at check in.Handed key-"the rooms that way".No"how are you,enjoy your stay,didn't even mention what the room number was.Went straight back to her highly important mobile phone.Looked for new remote for tv in room,handed one and told "that might work".Don't put your teenage daughter in charge or at least send her on a customer care course. Staff very young, nobody there to show us how to use shower, we had to shower in sisters room. Beside closet washing machine going all night, Needs updating. no remote control for tv. Staff give very little knowledge about facilities when checking in. They just said your room is upstairs. Thats it. It was very basic. Breakfast room was very small and busy. When we finally got a table, it took 35 mins from when we ordered till we received our breakfasts. Too long!. No hot water Nobody at reception Broken glass pane in front door Dusty room no remote for tv.
