this is an excellent place to stay. Get a booking done online, reach gili and the place is right behind the harbor. The owner and staff are very very nice. A 50 meter walk on one side of the homestay would get you to fabulous restaurants and on the other side are the party places.Highly recommend this place.

The place was only small with 5-6 rooms but the surrounds were great with lots of green vegetation and staff was amazing everything I asked he would do at the drop of a hat which was great.
I spent good time in Permata.
The staff were very nice and pleasant. The mosquito net had a few patched-up holes - i appreciate the fact that they bother to patch it up, many places don't! It's really near the beach and all the amenities but still quite quiet. Very decent for the price.

Room meets all the bare minimum requirements.
We managed to check out and into a place on the north east of the island called "Balenta Bungalows" I would stay here if I came again. Prices were 350,000 IDR instead of 270,000 IDR at Permata.
Really nice and friendly staff. The place is located behind the "party" beach, so you can get some quiet and peace.
Nice and quiet place not far from the main street and beach.Break-fast is served, but with no restaurant. But one does have an option to get food delivered from all the nearby hotels.
No A/C (only fen). No hot water (but this is kind of normal for Gilis).
The only down side was no air con in the standard rooms, 2 rooms had air con for double the price per night, but then it was only 30 a night with air con.

Small fan so room got very hot.
Bed bugs - There were so many I found them still on the bed come
morning. Upon inspection the pillows seemed over 20 years old and the
mattress had blood stains and brown stains.
Poor fan for cooling.
Floor got wet too easily from sink in room and made a real mess.
Staff hanged around outside the room on a seating area which led to limited privacy.
The rooms are very basic, but not that well maintained. The water for the bath and toilet can come and go. Also the wi-fi is a bit unstable.
There were no towels in the room and bed linen looked not fresh.
