. Very friendly welcome by the owner. Plenty of room in the carpark but the hotel garage was made available to me to park my motorcycle. A perfect hotel for a day trip to Trier. Despite its location some miles
outside of town, the hotel has a good public bus connection to Trier.
Rooms are well equipped, breakfast is also very good, friendly staff.

Our room was fabulous and very clean. It had a nice shower and a bathtub(!), plus a hair drier and magnifying mirror for makeup. The room was an apartment, and gave us a lot of room to spread out. Close to all major attractions and bus lines. The breakfast was the best that we had in our three weeks in Germany. We liked every aspect of normal hotel amenities found at the ante porta. The staff was extremely friendly, the room was perfectly designed for function and comfort, the bathroom answered all needs, the breakfast was sensational and the location superb. The parking was convenient and secure. I would stay at this hotel and any other just like it anywhere in the world if available.

A free drink at the bar was offered after check-in, which was a nice touch.
The location is close (5 mins walk) to the old city centre, yet easy to unload bags/check-in as there is a reserved bay in front of the hotel. Private covered parking is available a 2 min walk away (4.70 euros per night), the WiFi worked fine on my visit.

This hotel is a renovated kloster and retains many of the original fittings - it's beautiful! We ate dinner there which was fantastic and enjoyed the beautiful views of the river which runs directly in front. Visitors should note that the Klosterschenke is a significant distance from Trier, however, so a car is definitely required. -
