Mr Singh, the owner, was an incredibly friendly gentleman - he went out of his way to help us out and tell us the best way to get into town, etc. The room was large, clean and had a nice view of the other side of the mountain with the fortress on it! Getting into the city requires a commute, but it is very do-able! -

The view itself was fascinating but Koblenz and other old towns you can visit by boat are interesting and environment relaxed. The hotel has a good restaurant and there are many others on the waterfront - immediately adjacent to the hotel. You can also eat in the nearby old town and buy amazing ice-creams.

The hotel could benefit from mentioning that there was a supermarket across the street as amenities like basic shops are difficult to locate in central Koblenz. This was an added advantage as we could purchase any essentials that were required.
