  This small hotel is beautifuly located on the edge of Grainau village with stunning views of the mountans. The room was comfortable and we enjoyed a small balcony overlooking the garden. Breakfast was excellent although we were surprised to find several dogs in the breakfast room. They were well behaved though and we soon got used to them.   The hotel can be reached via the Zugspitzebahn, bus or taxi from the Garmisch train station. This is a lovely place, although next time we would get a room with the water view and stay longer. Scenery is spectacular, staff at the hotel the best- had a fabulous meal and evening in the restaurant our group adored the gentleman from Hungary who waite... o que as pessoas dizem » d on us and made us feel to home, the young lady working the bar was quite delightful too- exceptional hospitality! - The hotel is located in a beautiful spot, below the highest mountain in Germany. It was used by the US military at the end of WWII. In addition to the lake, there is an indoor swimming pool. We would like to return here for a family reunion as there are enough activities in the area for all ages.
