the hotel is excellently positioned for travel by tram into erfurt. the hotel was quiet, warm and friendly. erfurt is small city and great to access by tram. day ticket good value , on tuesdays all museums are free. the chistmas market is beautifully positioned at the base of the cathedral , with a real sense of what christmas is all about. this is not a complaint just an observation. travel from airport by taxi was 18 euros, not bad value. however when you understand the tram system you can get a no4, 10yds from airport entrance get off in town centre fish markt and get no3 (at same stop) to melchendorf. hotel literally 100yds away after crossing tram track.
