  Hotel staff were very helpful. We had difficulties with car breakdown and they couldn't have been more accommodating. Staying an extra night was made really easy. Telephone calls were taken for us and we were invited to use the hotel's computer for emailiing at any time.. A kind and helpful response to our situation. The owner and staff were very friendly and spoke good english. We usually stay in an Ibis but we found the room was of better quality and also larger plus with its own balcony. Again the breakfast was as good if not better than the Ibis chain.

  We were hiking the Rheinsteig and Hotel Zu Den Bergen was very handy to the track (near Marksberg [castle]). Our hotel room was spacious, modern and very clean, as was the ensuite bathroom.
