I began to feel the stresses of the long journey to France ebb away as we drove further off the speedway and down the country drive to Les Grands Vignes. When she came out to meet us I immediately felt the comfort one feels when one meets a genuinely good and kind pers - What a little gem! Arrived to a warm, immaculately clean,tidy and comfortable converted barn residence on a farm. Owner very welcoming and extremely helpful.Only stayed two nights but would like to stay longer another time, as such good value and every comfort - fresh linen (new towels for the second night, although they did not need changing only after one night), self-catering with breakfast provided ( as an extra) in the apartment if required.   We travel a lot staying in many beautiful places all over the world and La Bonne Auberge has to be one of our absolute favourites! It's totally unique, peaceful and very romantic, like stepping back in time. The view of the Seine is amazing (look out for the ocean going container ships which dwarf everything around them but pass by very quietly!), the thatched cottages are romantic, delightful and beautifully set out. Our apartment had a small fully equipped kitchen (which we didn't expect) with dishwasher, oven, fridge and microwave.   This is an excellent restaurant with a hotel. We stayed overnight on our way back to the UK. The restaurant was full with mostly local people and we had the Epicurean set menu with very good wine.   The cozy 2 bedroom accommodation was clean and nicely furnished. I can't go too much further into the review without noting that English speaking staff were available upon late check-in (somewhat of a rarity in France). The full bathroom did not skimp, with comfortable towels, a heated towel radiator, and a hair-dryer. The bed - The staff was very friendly and helpfil. We asked about prinzing out some zickrts we bouhht for the Monrt house and there was no problem! Our studio turned out to be a one bedroom appartment! A very big one on the ground floor! Very spacious bedroom, a big bathroom with a tricky shower (the handleholder was not strong enough to hold the handle).
