Accomadation was within easy walking distance from Ypres. We received a warm welcome and thought had been given to the 'little touches' to make our stay more comfortable. The room itself was really nice and although I am funny about sleeping in other peoples beds the accomadation was really clean and allowed for a good nights sleep regardless of my weird ways. Our stay ended with a really nice breakfast - good value for money and we would stay there again :).
todos opiniões » Roger and Muriel welcomed us warmly into their home. We had a spacious room with a large comfy bed,a balcony and aircon. The cooked breakfast set you up for the day, the continental offered you so much choice. It was so interesting to meet others of various nationalities around the table at breakfast. Don't miss Roger's Battlefields trip..it was worth every penny. Free parking outside and a 5 minute walk to the centre. A little gem!. 10 out of 10. The owners were very friendly and provided excellent service that could not be faulted. They seem to really enjoy their job. They advised on places to visit and local places to try for an evening meal. The breakfast was superb. I only wish we could have stayed for a couple more nights to take advantage of the breakfasts and to also go on one of the tours of the area organised by the owner. Roger and Muriel are excellent hosts, offering great food and a friendly welcome. Roger's guided tours of the First World War battlefields are well worth taking. The accommodation was clean and comfortable. All within walking distance (staggering if you are a fan of Belgian Beer!) of the Grote Markt and Menin Gate. A memorable stay. Lovely people to stay with (B&B), very helpful, extremely knowledgeable of the area with the best breakfast in Belgium. The room and facilities were excellent. Free WiFi, very clean and comfortable, exceptionally good value and a great location. We would stay here again without a second thought!. The hospitality was excellent, the room was excellent as was the breakfast. Tours run by the owner of the battlefield sites. Roger was very knowledgeable and we learnt a lot more than we ever could have doing it alone. Free car parking outside. Cavells was very convenient for the town and the City Tours and Battlefield tours offered by the owner were well presented with plenty of information to maintain interest throughout. The field of Flanders Museum is also a must for all. We had a fabulous weekend Roger and Muriel were so friendly and helpful and the accommodation was fab. We also booked an organised battlefield tour with Roger which was excellent. Would highly recommend B & B Cavells. The owners were very friendly and helpful with lovely little touches like a small fridge for their guest's use. Free parking directly opposite a great bonus for a city. Walking tour by owner absolutely fantastic!. Cavells is a home away from home, with delightful hosts who take pleasure in making your visit to Ypres special. Comfortable beds and toasty warm rooms were very welcome at the end of a long winters day. Excellent accommodation walking distance from town centre. Friendly and very helpful owners. Owners Breakfast was good. There was nothing to dislike! I read the reviews before hand and the only 'negatives' quoted were that booking in was between 6pm-8pm and a toilet was shared. Given the cost of the accomadation I was happy to book regardless of this. Nothing. Not being able to stay longer. Nothing. Nothing. Shared toilet a bit of a pain but a small price to pay considering the value for money. The website did make it clear how the facilities were arranged, so this is not a complaint. However, the toilet was round the corner from the bedroom, rather than en suite. The washbasin / shower were not screened from the rest of the room, which might be a problem for reserved people. It might be a good idea to have translucent blinds / net curtains for the very large picture window!. The owners have plans to make all rooms ensuite, this is much needed as rooms sharing a toilet is outdated. Shared toilet could be a problem for some. nothing. Nothing. Shared toilet,. The snow coming down on the day we arrived. toilet across landing however, this would not stop me from staying at Cavell's again. Message on the door when we arrived, advising check-in time between 6pm and 8pm. This should have been made clear when making the booking, and we would have planned our arrival accordingly. However, we had a very pleasant stay, and would go back. no en-suite toilet which was shared between three rooms. A bit expensive. no toilet in room no soap in shower. Bathroom arrangement in our room were not private Toilet communal in hallway No English news channels No nets and our room was overlooked so heavy curtains drawn to get changed.
