  Room decor outstanding and very comfortable. Traditional Austrian style with gorgeous woodwork throughout. Cost was very reasonable for such a beautiful place. The views of the surrounding mountains and lake are breathtaking, although from this location they are interrupted by other buildings. Staff able to speak English which was an help. Fresh trout - Friendly staff who spoke English fairly well, a clean room with a partial view of the water and town (and the next building) and a great restaurant downstairs. Sauna was a big bonus to ease aching bones after long hikes. Klaus the owner was invaluable with his local knowledge on beautiful treks and advise on routes to drive and sights to see. His recommendations were 10/10. Close to all restaurants and the little town too but very tranquil....only noise were from the ducks and swans in the lake.

  To complain about the location of the guesthouse is non sense. It is quietly located in a narrow road besides a river. We enjoyed walking every morning to the centre of Hallstatt, and as the description says, it is just a 15 min walk away from the centre. Service was superb, very kind staff. The room is clean with fridge and separated toilet (not with the bathroom). The owner lady is very kind, friendly and useful. It's located in a quite area next to the cable car to the salt mine. Definitely recommended.

  Very cosy and homy hotel with a long-long history. We have booked a room with a nice lake and mountain fantastic views. We have arrived late in the evening and the owners were waiting for us.
