Our stay at Green Gables Guest House was very comfortable and relaxing. Very warm welcome by Carol on arrival. She is very nice & helpful lady who make our stay very much enjoyable. The guest house is only 10 minutes walk from Windermere Rail station and 25 minutes pleasant walk to the lake side. You can find plenty of shops and restaurants around the guest house. There is also a bus stop at Broad street, (where the Guest house is situated) so it is easy for the bus pass holders to reach th. wszystkie opinie »
Great welcome and comfortable room. Exceptionally good breakfasts - well cooked and served. Good attention to detail. Very short walk along the road to Windermere shops and restaurants. The 7 pound bus will take you to the lakes - stops at end of road. We went up to Grasmere to see Dove Cottage, Wordsworth's beloved home. We asked about doing some washing and it was done overnight. We are touring from New Zealand. I would recommend Green Gables to everyone ... singles, families and couples youn.
Friendly staff welcomed us with a big smile. The breakfast was lovely the bed was really comfortable and the conversations we had were wonderful. It was like staying in a friendly aunts home. We will be back to green gables we had a fantastic homely stay. Upon finding out it was one of our birthdays the toast came promptly with a candle and a happy birthday song. You couldnt wish for a nicer stay.
Fantastic stay at Green Gables. The hosts, Carol and the lady who helped run breakfast were both lovely, nothing was too much trouble and breakfast was great.
Perfect location in the village so shops nearby and a pleasant 20 minute stroll downhill to Bowness and the lake.
If we visit the area again, we'll definitely be staying at Green Gables, comfortable stay at a reasonable price.
Quiet room with no intrusions.
Warm and comfortable room with tea, coffee, hot chocolate and bikkies.
Staff -fantastic welcome and we were well looked after at
breakfast.
Really comfortable dining room, and the option of a drink in the bar in the lounge area.
Parking opposite the house, which was free between 8 p.m. and 8 a.m.
Thank you Carol and Alex.
Like the location, the friendly staff, room was excellent and my room was on the ground floor and the breakfast was wonderfully hot and enjoyable, would also recommend property to others wishing for a friendly central location, Renoirs is also an excellent coffee shop just a short distance away.
We received a sincere welcome from Alex & Carol and they were very helpful in their knowledge of the area. Alex gave some good tips for photographic opportunities over Hawkstone pass and the lovely picturesque Jesus Church.
The stay at Green Gables was great. Carole and Gilly were wonderful. I'm a diabetic and when Carole found out she went and bought diabetic jam. The house was clean and in a great location. I would recommend this B & B.
Very lovely experience! The host treated us very patient and kind, borrowed us microwave and plates, teach us how to cook, and gave us yummy English full breakfast. This lovely house is worth choosing!.
It was a lovely little guest house, the owners were so friendly and the location was fabulous, just a 30 second walk to the centre of Windemere and a 20 minute walk to the lake. Lovely breakfast too!.
Very close to rail station/restaurants/supermarkets. Like the single room better than twin room since the bathroom is inside. Staff are really warm and friendly. Overall it's a nice experience.
Very friendly owners. Fantastic breakfast. Clean rooms, very warm and
cosy. The B&B was situated in easy reach of the shops and our car
was parked very close on the road for free.
Staffs are friendly and give me a very warm feeling! The room and bathroom are very clean and comfortable!! The breakfast is excellent! Strongly recommend this hotel!.
The room was very cosy (especially the bed - best night sleep I've had in a long time!). The breakfast was lovely and the staff were very friendly.
Extremely nice and generous hosts, friendly and helpful. Nice and clean room. Full English breakfast to keep me going for the whole day.
1) Reasonable price
2) comfort bed
3) fast wifi ( although I can't receive signal, my friend got the signal)
4) breakfast quiet tasty.
Carole and Alex were excellent hosts and made us feel at home. One of the best English breakfast that we ever had!.
Beautiful little guest house, staff were excellent and room was comfortable. A really nice stay. Two thumbs up.
carol is very friendly and Alex gives good suggestion about local tour, good breakfast and comfortable room.
Really freindly and welcoming, a good laugh, fantastic breakfast and great central location.
Staff is very friendly with excellent breakfast, the room is very clean and comfortable.
Nice room with a good selection of books. Excellent hospitality and superb breakfasts.
Excellent breakfast, friendly staff, lovely room and very good price in high season.
Lovely, welcoming, friendly & helpful hosts, excellent breakfast, comfy bed.
Staff are nice and welcome. Breakfast is also good and traditional.
Very comfy bed .fantastic Italian around the corner called giotto .

Generally clean room and an excellent breakfast. Mmmmmmm.
Cleanliness
Staff behaviour
Near the station.
Friendly staff and an excellent breakfast.
A true B & B.
Very friendly people.
the staff is really nice.
everything.
all of it.
Friendliness f the host, and the breakfast is commendable.
Location.
Nothing to dislike.
We were on the top floor - didn't like the stairs - at home we live in a bungalow!!!.
Stairs to top floor a little steep but would not stop us staying again.
not much to dislike.
The rooms could do with a bit of an update - particularly the bathroom. But all in all, value for money.
It was a little bit too hot in the room as it was very warm in July, a plug in fan would've been a great addition to the room.
Can be noisy sometimes. The toilet for the twin room in top floor is not functioning very well.
It's not so much what I didn't 'like'...The kettle took
some messing with to work which could be a fault in the wiring? I had
advised the B&B about my Coeliac Disease months before arriving, and
the kitchen cook told me they hadn't any gluten free bread which was
a let down as I would've loved to enjoy toast like everyone else.
The breakfast was delicious though, piping hot and tasty.
1) Charge 5 pounds for keeping 1 luggage after check out.
Nothing.
Matresses not perticularly comfy but for the price of the stay still very good value.
None.
En suite not available for me but shower was really good opposite the room.
Daytime parking difficulties.
Very restrictive times to eat breakfast. It was 08.30 until 09.00. Would have preferred 1 hour.
Inside neat and tidy but exterior could do with an refresh................
No Breakfast as I got a bit late but in time.
nothing.
I hate the mattress with the springs hurting my back. Even with the mattress turned over, and a duvet placed over the mattress, the spring still hurts. Miserable nights.
They must have had some terrible experiences with guests in the past, because not only do they not accept left luggage but the otherwise friendly staff seemed to turn into gremlins when I asked. Was so shocked to not be able to leave a bag despite them having 4 staff & my return time being just 1/2 hour before the afternoon checkin time. Never had that happen to me before. Also, full English breakfast was fine, but there wasn't a healthy option (other than continental).
