Easy access to town centre, comortable and clean room and no pressure to leave by a deadline. lovely and warm on a very cold weekend. It was warm and friendly, full of character and a pleasant change from your average travel lodge. I found staff pleasant and helpful. Thank you. The friendlyness of staff and convenient for the town. helpfulness of the staff.

Close proximity to the centre of Shrewsbury. On site parking. Good breakfast. Character; reasonably central. Close to centre of Shrewsbury. Enjoyed the history of the building and area. Very unique. Very British.Location, very close to town. Lovely old building.Did not see many staff just a brief encounter with them whilst checking in and out. Location was good for the town centre but a bit away for the folk festival, although the taxi service was prompt but can add to the expenses of the stay. Friendly staff and the bar being open when we needed it.situation and food. Food very good in the Bistro.Good central location to explore the town on foot. Good view over the river and English Bridge. Central location in Shrewsbury. Staff friendly and helpful.Close to centre of town. And car parking. Freindlyness of staff. we had a lovely evening meal ,staff were very nice ,. Staff were pretty fair. I booked in for 4 nights but only stayed one night because I was tiredand had just arrived in Shrewsbury after travelling for several hours. Central location. Location. it was a place to sleep. Room slightly too warm but then the weather was exceptionally good!. the noise from traffic during the night.stairs abit dangerous. We chose to pay extra for breakfast, but it seemed as though it was too much of an effort with the lady in the breakfast room - we ended up just having tea, cereal and toast because it felt 'uncomfortable'.A hook was needed on back of bathroom door for dressing gown. Also some sort of shelving - did not like putting toilet bag on floor! Bathroom large so could easily be fitted in (room 22). Tight turning into carpark. Television could of been bigger and better picture quality. The rooms seemed stuffy with limited ventilcation. Our bedroom window was held open with a coat hanger which dislodged and nearly slammed onto my hand.They tried to charge me for breakfasts I hadn't had because they assumed I was with a group of others staying at the same time. The room was a bit difficult to get to, there were a lot stairs to climb and passages were quite narrow.Bathroom could've been cleaner. Can't stick sheets and balnkets but that's just my own preference. There is no lift and getting to your room with a heavy bag could be a problem.TV in room not working properly. Very shabby indeed, needs some of their profit money putting back into doing it up!. poor breakfast service. Room was noisy as a result of windows only being single-glazed and close proximity to busy road.No internet facilities available. Tv needs up dating. The mattress was hard and lumpy. very cold room ,broken shower water went everywhere but my body and it was held together with tape, we felt springs badly in matress ,. The room was very small the bathroom was very tiny and the shower head was broken The television was not up to standard. I did not like the fact that I complained on arrival to a member ofstaff about the room and the facilities. This was not taken on boardand when I checked out I was charged £200 even though the hotel was notof a suitable standard. When I complained I was only given £50 refund.The hotel is a dump and there are much nicer hotels nearby who chargemuch the same.Uncomfortable bed. Noisy traffic - incomplete double glazing. No shower. Poor reception on TV. There were no coathangers in the room and when we asked for some it was like we were asking for something special. Water not particularly hot for a shower.Aweful place. If you have any alternatives in Shrewsbury, pick them.Broken Windows and on main road, broken light fittings, no reception forthe tv. Matresses with springs poking into your back. On top of that theclerk tried to tell me I needed 48 hours notice to cancel my room after2 nights and not needing it for a third as booked. dirty floor, dirty bathroom, television broken, everytime we flussed the toilet black water was coming through the shower drain. Staff were not friendly. They were uncooperative in the bar refusing to change a drinks order even though they did not have the mixer requested. The Room (No. 22) was a dirty health hazard, unwashed bathroom floor with cracked tiles and filthy curtains in the bedroom. The beds were clean but not very comfortable. We chose not to eat in this hotel because of hygiene concerns.

Please note that dinner needs to be booked directly with the hotel as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, This is essential in the month of December when the hotel will not be able to accommodate residents for dinner without a prior reservation. Please note that no dinner will be served on New Year's Eve. There is limited free parking on site. Public parking is also available across the road and charges may be applicable. The hotel does not have any ground floor rooms; all rooms are accessed via a spiral staircase, and there is no lift. Unfortunately there is no air conditioning throughout the hotel. However fans are provided in all the rooms.
