The Angel is set in the heart of Lavenham, one of England’s finest medieval villages. It offers tasty cuisine, comfortable rooms with en suite bathrooms and free Wi-Fi and parking.
The Angel exudes Tudor character with its open fires and exposed beams. In keeping with the history of the hotel, rooms are beautifully decorated and feature TVs, hair dryers and ironing facilities.
The restaurant serves traditional cuisine using the finest local ingredients. Complimented by a well stocked bar there are also snug, terrace and garden areas for guests to relax in.
In Lavenham there are wonderful tea shops and quaint gift shops to explore. The local Lavenham Sinfonia gives regular concerts at the Church Of St Peter and St Paul on Sundays.
Between Bury St Edmunds and Sudbury, the inn is located on the A134, just off the A14. There are several golf courses nearby and Newmarket Race Course is also within reach by car.

the staff and the ambience of the hotel matches its incomparable location. The staff were very welcoming and the food was excellent. Friendly reception, comfortable and cozy rooms. The comfortable and homely surroundings. The food was a total suprise...you must have your evening meal there, simple food but to an amazing standard. The style is very relaxed in the restaurant. Restaurant. When they realised that we had booked a twin room and there wasn't one available they gave us seperate rooms for the same rate as the twin, this was greatly appreciated. Overnight only. N/A. Old world charm. Delightful village, wonderful location of hotel. The room was satisfactory, but it is sited as a 4 star hotel which I find hard to believe, as I have stayed in better 3 star hotels. It was 4 star prices but not 4 star accommodation, having said that it was enjoyable. Very central and a nice area in the Market place. Nice location and friendly, welcoming staff. The double room was quite small, however very nice and bathroom very new.Our breakfast was disappointing. It was more like a B+B rather than a hotel, the room was a bit on the small side for £85.Pity about there gening so many fire doors - though good in the event of a fire! the hotel is not as upmarket as its location - but if it was the cost wouod pressumably be beyobnd what I was happy to pay. The room was very cold. The central heating was not sufficient as there was cold air coming through both windows. It was also very noisy. For the price that we paid to stay there would at least expect a cooked breakfast rather than cereal and toast. Advertised as a continental breakfast - again, this was not what we received. Limited time for breakfast also.
