Ideally placed between the historic towns of Monmouthshire and Chepstow. Tintern is in the heart of the Wye Valley, and all of the attractions it has to offer.
The poet Wordsworth described Wye as the most romantic valley in Wales. Little has changed since he penned those lines and the Wye river still wends its way by Tintern, its abbey and forest. The Wye Valley Hotel is a three star country inn, which dates back to 1835 when it was a small alehouse known as The Carpenters Arms. In 1909 the building was renamed and extended to its current form.
Both the bar and restaurant are open to non-residents and is popular with locals and tourists alike. Using fresh local produce, we aim to provide a range of food to suite your individual tastes - from bar snacks to a la carte meals. Special dietary requirements are catered for on request. With a total of nine en suite rooms the owners, Sue and Barry Cooke, pride themselves on being available to give individual attention to their guests to ensure that their stay is as relaxing and enjoyable as it can possibly be.

Excellent meals. We felt welcome and well cared for. Friendly Management and Staff. Chef was able to cater for us outside of usual hours with prior request, therefore staff most accommodating. wszystkie opinie »
Sensible sized rooms, well furnished, and the fact that 'single' travellers were not poked into broom cupboards, nor were the rates for single room use at all unfair (as they so often are). The breakfasts were also very good.Very peaceful and friendly. Friendly atmosphere. Food execellent. The Food was excellent and the Beer on offer from the Wye Valley Brewery was very well kept. Staff were attentive. Location was good if you are a tourist as its right beside the river and nearby are several pubs and hotels offering various food choices. I was working in Sedbury and found that my SatNav took me via several one track roads and in 4 different directions!. Curteous staff. Reasonable prices. Excellent location. Recommened. very convenient for a wedding at Tintern church. Warm, clean room and excellent food. Friendly and quiet. The location was excellent, if a little close to a sometimes noisy road, staff friendly as well locals. will definately return. The staff were pleasant and the food was good. Clean room and friendly helpful staff. Location.the breakfast was very good. It may have just been on 'off' day, but the one evening meal we had there was not very well cooked or presented (and the price of 'starters' on the menu is too high).A little dated. Breakfast was too late - not starting until eight (not good if you need to be somewhere at that time) and the atmosphere in the Breakfast Room was lacking (no background music playing). on a busy main road. Shower was slow but the rest of the room was good value and clean, rare these days!. £150 for 2 nights BandB a little on the expensive side. It was cold and there was no radiator in the bathroom and so no heating or bathmat. We were in room No 1, so the other rooms may have been better.Bathroom could do with updating, carpet in the bathroom is not a good idea and was a little dirty. Adequate for a one night stay but I wouldn't return. Standard of housekeeping poor e.g. 5 out of 8 light bulbs in room broken. Breakfast kipper initially served barely thawed: satisfactory replacement provided but no apology offered.very steep staircase,.
